Do you put value in jeans size?

Title boys. I'm 6 feet and I won't let myself go above 32x32. When they are tight that's my cue to cut back and up my workout intensity. Do you guys do the same or do you think it's a bad metric?

I think it's one of the best ways to gauge things but just not when they're fresh out of the dryer. That can be some depressing sh*t

Well, as much as it's more fat than you think, that can be a prohibitive metric for good leg development, as well. Strong squat tends to result in tight jeans. Not necessarily a bad thing.

I think waistline is a better thing to keep an eye on and go off of.

I had some jeans that developed a big tear down the backside. I usually go commando, so this can be a problem when worn at work. I work with about 25 women in a medical clinic. The pant cuffs were also getting frayed. So I cut the legs off to make shorts, and I used some of the leg material to patch the hole in the buttock region of the shorts. Garment is pictured inside out.

I have a favorite pair of Kuhl shorts that I bought in three different colors. I check the fit periodically over the winter. If they aren't fitting well in the waist as spring approaches, then it's time to make some adjustments to my routine.

Jeans aren't as good of a benchmark because I find the fit to be inconsistent between pairs, even though all I have are Levi's with 32" waist.

Definitely. Pants sizes are a pain in the a$$ for me lol. I usually buy size 32, but can be anywhere from 30/31" to 33/34" depending on how lean I am. My pants are usually either too loose or too tight lol.

I even got some of these button adjusters on Amazon to deal with the different fits:

So yes I definitely find pants sizes to be a good gauge of where I am fat-wise.

LOL, exactly why I stopped putting my jeans in the dryer. I always hang dry them now.

Its also annoying AF that you can have 3 pairs of the same jeans, in the same size, made by the same manufacturer and yet somehow they all fit a little bit different.
All it takes is consistency, effort, proper nutrition, good programming, and TIME.

Don't be upset with the results you didn't get from the work you did not do.

You expect a lot out of third world toddlers. Make sure you get stretch jeans to get a little more wiggle room either direction.

I've always needed a larger size than people would expect to look at me because I have a pretty broad pelvis. When I was skinny fat before I started lifting I was 170lb at 6'1" and wore a 36" waist. Now I'm around 167lb with a lot more muscle and wear a 32" waist. When I bulk past 175lb I need to go up to a 33" waist.
