so recently I have been eating about 300-340 grams of protein a day, 160-200g of carbs a day, and around 60-80g of fat. After doing some research I found that 300g is way too much protein. Currently I am trying to cut at a little below maintenance but keep protein intake high in hopes of burning fat, while keeping as much muscle as possible. I am on the track team at my college and lift on my own 4 days a week, practice 5 days a week, and have a team lift 4 days a week as well. I am trying to eat around 2800 cals. what should I lower my protein intake to? 250g? 275?
I am trying to get to under 210 for summer, around 217 right now.

Protein?
I thought recent "nuscience" says that men don't need protein and that muscles just...just spontaneously grow after resistance training?
What is this "protein" you are referring to?!Battlefield 8 fan

Calm down and follow this trick.
If you ever ingest carbs and see water weight increasing, just cease consumption of ALL food and water/drink for *at least* seven full days (i.e. 168 Earth hours). Do not consume ANYTHING for these 168 hours. This should reset your entire internal system (kidneys, liver, intestines, colon etc) and therefore ensure that your body is back to shape. Just imagine it like a videogame console reset - except instead of five minutes, it's 168 hours.
Hope this helps.

Not necessarily.
It depends on your ancestry and where your ancestors evolved.
Many black Africans living in the Western World for example get "puffed up" due to Western diets and consumption of water, likely due to the fact that their ancestors likely evolved and developed in desertified or arid areas of the world (e.g. Africa) where supplies and water were sparse and sunlight was strong; hence bodies adapted to retain more liquids and nutrients. Thus, living in the Western World would be an evolutionary nightmare, because of the "overabundance" (if you can call it that). Life would require an excessive amount of self-control - too much in fact.Battlefield 8 fan

So again, why would you think carbs make you bloated?
I eat like 400-500 carbs every day... im not 'bloated' looking...
Carbs are much better for energy production than protein... and you're eating basically twice as much as you need.
I guess I just don't understand this fear you have... eating carbs doesn't make you look fat, excess calories over time make you fat...
If for some reason you had like, an ISOLATED DAY where you had to be shirtless and as peeled as humanly possible, any excess 'bloat' (which I don't understand as a concept in your case) would go away in like a single day of lowering carbs.
Water weight is easy-come, easy-go...
You should swap your protein and carb targets... that's my recommendation,"When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"

This. Eat more cereal, OP. Your wallet, tastebuds, & bowels will thank you.
But...why? Srs. I can't ever imagine eating that much protein. Are you a keto bruh?
This is such tardedly obvious trolling that you're not even worth the neg, boyo.
I'm of course the same. I actually always have over 400g of carbs per day from these EXACT foods listed
These foods have lots of fats with them tho. It really adds up with a more plant-based diet. Plus there's always cereal
