50 miles nw of Chicago.
Got a great deal imo. Don't want to say exact price, but between 200-250k. Taxes are currently around 1k, but it's zoned ag-1. When I build on it, I'll be lucky to keep them under 10k. Srs. Considering continuing to lease out 5 acres to maintain the ag-1.Ol' 71st street. The devil that birthed me.

I have 5 acres OP. Mostly treed except a big fenced yard for dog and big front yard for kids with a terraced hill that gets a nice sunset. 20x20 foot garden and a spot for an outdoor rink. I can’t imagine joy having property. Congrats
If you know about recording I have a quick question… I want to start a small podcast mostly for my company (5000+ employees so will be a small audience that actually listens). Basically just covering current research our staff has been involved with, and just for fun.
Looking at a this package (Samson q2u with boom, cheap headphones and pop filter)
https://www.amazon.ca/Handheld-Micro...8-6&th=1&psc=1
I’ll add a shock mount, and focusrite 2i2. Lastly I think I’ll need a preamp. Thinking the cheapest one I can find with 2 ports.
This allows a cohost if they want to buy the same Amazon package (or anything).
See any flaws with this? I’ll be recording some interviews at distance (zoom or maybe a paid site) and can’t control what gear the other side uses but mine should be decent.Tobacco prostitute

I use a Scarlett at the moment. It does the job. For something spoken like a podcast, that gear looks fine, but you need to consider your recording environment. You could treat the walls if they're bare as your voice will flutter and echo right back to your mic and it'll sound a bit reverby and hollow. Acoustic foam works very well on the walls and is easy enough to set up.
