If there is a cop car in front of me going slow as **** can I beep the **** out of them?
I know they’re cops but I don’t think that gives them the right to impede traffic.

The last time I visited NYC, I saw people do it. Cops didn’t seem to GAF.
But then again, everybody is really quick on the horn in that city, and nobody seems to GAF.

Honking is to alert/signal another driver, i.e. - get their attention if they are paused at a green light, pulling out in front of you, failing to check a blind spot before changing lanes, etc.
Honking at anyone - cop or not - to bully another driver into driving faster is considered road rage or aggressive driving and will get you pulled over.
