Watching the Garage Gym Lab (Adam/Gamecock Lifter) review of the Exxentric kBox4 got me thinking three things. 1) This has potential to be really cool. 2) This is very expensive. 3) There could be DIY possibilities.
So, I googled, and sure enough, it's been done. Thinking about giving this a go in 2022. Any thoughts on tweaks to Adrian's approach and where to source parts in the US?

Not sure about the actual source of the flywheel used, but pillow blocks and a bolt can be found at fastenal, or most other industrial hardware supplier in your area. best guess is it can be built for under $100. Pillow blocks might run $20-30 each, a long bolt maybe $10-15, left over lumber from other projects (cheap), pulley for a couple bucks on amazon or fastenal. Not sure about that smooth flywheel though.

Off the top of my head, why not cut down an old threaded standard dumbbell handle, so you have a threaded end to tighten plates on for inertia setting.

Looks like there are published instructions on Amazon. The few reviews are positive but no one says they actually built it. Hate to pay $7.25 but I might.
