I was invited once to an awards ceremony for the job of my friend's mother, whose boss immediately struck me as one of those kind, but overly eccentric sort of people. There were probably two hundred people in the event center which was rented out for the occasion, and a large meal was catered for those present. The food actually tasted pretty good, but was unusual somehow in an indefinite sort of way, so when the award presentation was over and the boss announced that the catered food was entirely vegan and imitation meat, no one was thoroughly shocked, until he literally bursted out into tears on stage, compelling everyone to abandon meat in their diet because of a Netflix documentary he recently saw that apparently changed his life, and convinced him that meat consumption was responsible for at least half of the diseases and premature deaths in humanity. There was a palpable mixture of astonishment and concealed laughter throughout the room, and I myself couldn't believe someone would not only buy that hook, line and sinker as a grown adult, but also then feel the need to become some kind of apostle for it trying to persuade a crowd of people most of whom he did not know at all. Where's the common sense where you realize that documentaries are commercial commodities with financial interests, and that they make money to the extent that they persuade?

Clearly the documentary was sponsored by the tobacco industry. Smoking 5 cigs is as (un)healthy as eating 1 egg. Let's start smoking!

So, after more homework, I decided to go with kind of a hybrid meal plan. Again, most of my reasoning for wanting a change was to add more variety of nutrients into my body. I, literally, wasn't eating a single veggie before; all oat, chicken, whey, beef diet (avacado, if that's a veggie...not sure it's classified as one). And I tend to go overboard, to the extreme with things when I make a change like this. I had to step back, look at what I was consuming now, re-look at the reasoning for wanting to change, and reevaluate my plan to make that change happen.

Anyway, I just started my cut for my first show of '22 which will be in April. I needed to lay it all out, add it up, and this is what I went with.

I think it's a good variety of things that will add more of a health aspect into my life; I feel good about it.
The numbers came out good; a little low on the cals but this gives me room for creamer in my coffee. And I like the protein numbers too; and the varied sources it comes from.

The middle section is all blended of course

I welcome your thoughts...please be open; that's how we learn.

Given that meal enjoyment and taste don't appear to be considerations, and I assume you know what macros work best for your specific goals, looks fine.

For your general health, you might want to include some fruits in there occasionally other than avocado (it's a fruit), whether whole or blended.

I found this excerpt to be interesting, as it made me wonder if there are ever events where a large meal is catered for those absent.

Yes there are. We have a large catered event at a college. Their food service prepares it in the cafeteria kitchen (steaks, chicken, potatoes, rice, beans). What isn't consumed at the event is taken to the fire department about 6 blocks away.

RSVP no shows would count, but you obviously know that it's not always wastefully redundant to state something implicit.

    e.g.
Guy telling a story: "So I turned the key to start the car."

A2F interjection: "Yeah, well what else would you use it for?"

I buy plant protein powder in the bulk section of Winco. $8 per pound. No added stuff. Easy to get enough protein.

Supplement with B12, and also a little B3, B6, and zinc.

Do you enjoy guacamole? It is vegan. Lots of yummy dishes are.

    Eat the 5 food groups:
    Fruits
    Vegetables
    Grains
    Nuts/extra virgin olive oil
    Beans/plant protein powder

    You'll be fine.
There are even imitation meats that are starting to get good.

My brother has been vegan for 25 years, and vegetarian before that.
I've been mostly vegetarian most my life, vegan a year or 2 here and there, and now fully vegan.

Those experts are just the meat industry fighting back. Plenty of religious groups are vegan and their kids grow up just fine. Also supplement technology is vastly improved.

Forcing parents to feed animals to their kids is a tremendous breach of human freedom that I hope antivaxxers can understand.

Idk, as I look at my diet now, besides the chicken, I'm 80% there already
The only undisputed benefits are reversal of arteriosclerosis, and reduced rates of cancer.

You can get just as much energy on either diet, but don't forget that vegans don't get constipated ever. I can take a dump in a smelly bathroom while holding my breath. Meat eaters need a magazine and keep others waiting and maybe get diverticulitis.

Interesting that each one I met woukd volunteer that information to me to which I think “makes sense” right after.

I’m not a scientist or nutritionist but like Paul mentions, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Look into systematic enzymes to help with the joints/inflammation. Worked for me and at some point I’ll visit bioxcellerator in Colombia for their full stem cell package.
The reason so many vegans are messed up is they eat nothing but fruit, or just beer and french fries. They don't learn about nutrition.

Also, many people trying veganism are doing so because they heard it would cure their ailment. They were roped in by vegans desperately trying to convert them even with lies. But the ailment was a preexisting condition, not caused by the diet.

Sorry but this is a silly post.

    Vegans can absolutely get constipated.

And the only limited data on reversal of atherosclerosis was in a VERY restrictive plant based diet, not applicable to all vegan diets at all.

Beans and grain have iron, but you need vitamin C with the meal to absorb it. I supplement just to be safe. Iron is not the only thing it is lower in than the meat diet.

Meat requires washing dishes that would just rinse off with a non oily plant based diet.

You being full of s*** ain't news. Most people who eat meat also eat vegetables & can function just fine, and have the ability to have a superior diet due to the option to choose appropriately from all available food sources.
