    28mm bearing Olympic Bar sleeves

I dislike the grooves/ridges that are on the sleeves of most barbells sold today. I'm looking for a 28mm diameter bearing Olympic Bar with a smooth finish on the sleeves and very little or no slop in the sleeve to bar fit. I have read that most Rogue bars have a little play between the sleeves and bar and also ridges. The only one I have found so far that claims to have a smooth finish is from American Barbells. Any others out there?

Also how does the hard chrome sleeve finish hold up if using iron change plates?

Have had their PB for years, no issues with the sleeves. Still no slop, super smooth sleeves and the stainless steel is still in perfect condition

I think American Barbell is a great choice if you are looking for smooth sleeves and minimal slop. It is worth noting though that a little end play is going to be within spec for all manufacturers even for AB. That said, I'm not aware of another barbell manufacturer known for better quality control. I had their T-Grip Bar with spinning sleeves and it was top-notch with no end play. I don't have one of their straight bars but I probably will at some point.

American Barbell Comp Spec SS bar.. I have this one.. it's awesome. Perfectly smooth sleeves with very, very tight tolerances. Hard chrome with show light scratches.. may be able to be polished, but they're sleeves so it's kinda par for the course.
Ivanko Stainless Oly bar.. this one is sweet too. Smooth sleeves, very high quality construction. I had this one and sold it b/c I do dumb things some times.

Eleiko, Uesaka come to mind for smooth sleaves. Bearing smooth and specific to weightlifting. Going to be a lot more expensive so if you don't want a dedicated weightlifting bar this is probably not cost effective. Some of the best bars made though and arguably the best.
