No disrespect to ID's supercars, or Fox body Stangs, or tuners
the sixties cars could be hopped up on a low budget and minimal experience, with a socket set and a screwdriver.
I picked up this '69 Swinger in August. Wasn't my target car but I could not resist when I came across it. A friend in the early 80's had one and I had much respect back then (when I thought small blocks were weak)
Although Dodge rated the 340 LA block at 275HP, the NHRA said "no way" and pegged it at 310HP. It was actually 320HP. That year's 383 big block was a true 335HP, so Dodge/Plymouth could not have a small block within 15HP of a big block they intended for mass sales. If you swapped out the carb, intake, and put headers on with THRUSH mufflers, you were well over 350HP. In the 1969 "Compact Car of the Year". Dodge marketed in at 6000rpm for under $3000.00
too late in the year to put it on the road, but I'll be ready for spring
Can't post video so included dealer video

I don't necessarily agree with everything I say.
