Christmas is not the same if you don't have littles running around imo. Won't be putting a tree up here, but will throw a few lights up at the cottage and call it done. Aside from that, I will be volunteering with a local food/toy drive and Christmas Hamper campaign, that's pretty much it for Xmas 2021 in my neck of the woods. Should be fishing or at least X country skiing by then, so fun will be on the agenda for the big day with a cook up in the woods, steaks roasting on an open fire. How about you folks? Has Covid cocked over your plans? Big Gathering? Any kids involved? Give us the scoop.

Sounds nice, MT.
My family always gets together which is very nice. I usually cook lasagna, fresh bread and sides. But this year I will not be doing anything. Family will without me.
I hope everyone has a nice Christmas whatever you do. 🎄Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

I don't get into it any longer, my moms house was always the gathering spot for everyone, it's where we opened presents, had meals, relatives all came over, etc. She died in the mid 90's and that all stopped. 2 of my kids have tried to get something similar going but there is always bickering and infighting going on & ultimately one of the 4 girls gets butthurt over something and then it's 4-5 years before anyone tries again.
Wife and I are headed to Minneapolis the day after christmas for a Vikings game and spending the night, much better vs hanging out with arguing family members."You know that little thing in your head that keeps you from saying things you shouldn't? Yeah, well, I don't have one of those."

Never had kids,so I’ve never bothered getting all christmasy. I’ll be visiting a friend who’s now 81 . He took care of me for a few years in my 20’s when things weren’t going very well after my father committed suicide.
I feel the least I can do is visit him , and he really appreciates it .
There is a single mom in town who I met threw my neighbour, and she isn’t as fortunate as many others .
I’ll be giving her a bottle of wine and her kids some cash to help them out .
That’s about the extent of my Christmas lolMake Misc great again

25 days left, slightly stressing, and need to make time for the mall to see things in person.
ordering is fine but some things look better inthe pics than in real life. There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

I worked retail 24 years, that about killed the holiday and did kill the music for me, losing Mom in early 2020 didn’t help make it better for Dad or myself, then lat year it was late due to my Sister, her Husband,
And his immediate family catching Covid, we ended up not having Christmas until mid January this year. Pretty much only thing that hasn’t totally ruined it for me is my 2 y/o niece, this will be her 3rd Christmas and likely the first where she may have an idea as to what is going on.

Yeah the tree is up and my daughter decorated it. The decorations and lights are up outside.
We have a Christmas display outside that was shut down last year. Luckily it was open this year. We finally have holiday events around our area. Last year everything was canceled due to the Nazis who run our county, and it was Bah Humbug.
That’s nice that you’re volunteering mt.Make It a Great Day! Just call me Dusty. It's a Clown 🤡 World out there.

Wow, extremely depressing thread so far Fellas.
Both my kids are at college so we went a little overboard, I put up all new flashing LED's on the two front porches. Just me and her went to cut the tree, was kinda bittersweet but way less dramatic. If you've never cut a tree in the woods with a kid, it goes from a missing mitten to a fistfight over who pulls it out, all in a short 15 years or so.
Wife has 4 trees up, plus the christmas village, the ceramic trees, lights over every doorway and railing.
She's just getting started and you can see our house from Venus. Gonna be a fun couple of electric bills.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Although Christmas doesn't feel the same for me, I know it still big for my grandchildren so we decorate, put a tree etc. However for me the feeling died a long time ago.
However the faces on my grandchildren when they open their gifts is the best feeling in the world.

Christmas lights are up, no decorations in the house yet, we will go cut a tree next weekend, or at least drive out to the stand where they sell fresh cut.
Not as big a deal now for the family, as my boys are 23, but we still have some fun. We still do some shopping and some presents are under the tree. Christmas dinner will be at our house with the usual menu, with my Parents coming and possibly other members of my wife's family. My Sister is in BC, and my brother is in NH so I wont see them, they have their own stuff going on with their respective families.
New years eve much the same. Not much partying for us now...just not into it.
The part I most enjoy is the dinners, drinks, card games, time for visiting with friends and neighbors, eating, relaxing, no work, more eating, and more eating...oh also IIHF world Junior hockey tournament..and oh yeah....more eating.
No rest from the gym, you can be sure of that. Please record my time/reps if I pass out

I feel ya. Good job on helping your community. My community is destroyed from drugs and over multiculturalism srs. Every dog for himself. My 2 brothers are always competing keeping up with the Jones style. I don't have kids yet. Tempted to pull the pin on anything family this Xmas. Told the boss I'm happy to work. That being said, I put up lights and a tree, and will celebrate with some international student friends who haven't been able to visit their families since covid. Sorry for depression session but as I get older, it feels harder to be happy srs

Howdy empty pockets.....(I'll check my spelling)
I really do like the Holiday Season very much but I've never been the most festive of the family tribe.
I'm just glad my wife's glee and enthusiasm makes up for my expressive deficiency.
No trees for some years but we have a plethora of inside decorations and lights that we put up.
I enjoy that part and seeing her happy with it all.
I get pleasure just out of seeing her excitement and 'festiveness' during this season.....I'm far more reserved, so to speak.
It annoys my wife a bit.
She has jokingly (I hope) referred to my lack of similar 'festiveness' as being a bit humbuggish.
I don't have a religious atom in my body so if I were asked, I say Christmas is for kids and is all about awaiting presents from an imaginary fat guy in a red suit.
That's OK though....we all have our take on it but for me it's more of the end of one year and anticipating what the new year may bring.
It's all good.
Oh.....we have NO KIDS, which was my non-negotiable criteria (very early on) if she wanted our relationship to thrive and endure.
She is a great wife and I love her dearly.....shvt!....she stayed with me, what's not to love.
Just us, low key, no big events or gatherings, eating well with some fine libation....just the way I like it.
I'll wish all a safe and enjoyable Holiday Season with family and friends.
