this
i'm not really keen on this jab twice a year indefinitely or get kicked out of society thing. look at italy, austria, australia and lithuania. chit is really going down there...
@Heisman2: since you seem to be an analytical guy, do you have any thoughts about vaccinated overweight people not being seen as a problem? is a vaccinated 350 pound guy "doing his job" in this thing more than an unvaccinated young athletic lifter? asking because in my country, they stopped using "you won't infect others" as an argument and switched to "the ICU spots are running out, 49/50 taken!!!" as a basis for everyone to get vaccinated, no matter how healthy they are. i can't help but feel like they're barking up the wrong tree

If you do make sure you get the nucleocapsid antibody. If you get the spike antibody it will be positive from the vaccine.
That debacle took a full day of my life to respond to everyone, lol. That was my first time posting there in many years and probably my last.
I think there should have been a huge push to lose weight the second we realized that obesity is one of the main drivers of bad outcomes. There also should have been a huge push for the vaccine. We could have pushed both at the same time. Now we're almost 2 years into this and had we been pushing that from the start we may have made some real progress by now. If this new variant evades the vaccine and is as bad as the rest then all of the vaccination efforts may not be very helpful, but working on weight loss and healthy lifestyles still would have been. Not to mention the literally dozens of other medical conditions that are benefited by living healthily, the cost-savings to medical care, the decrease in time that people have to spend in medical appointments, etc. So I think both aspects should have been emphasized.

This.
In no way whatsoever do I associate with the ridiculous conspiracy theories circulating about the vaccine from certain fringe groups (I won't even name them because I think everyone knows who I'm talking about), however I do have somewhat of a concern that it's not sufficiently tested or may have medical consequences, or be altogether ineffective against recurring mutations that are bound to continue.
But this.. this is a actually a real concern: the exploit about it, which even if not deliberate on the part of all, leaves itself open for the inevitable many who will capitalize on a decline of freedom instantly. Because all of the hithertofore duly-diligent who have gotten their jab and vaccine now have game-tags on them to do this all the time, a precedent is truly being set for a normalization of arbitrary authoritarianism. Just look at the consequences to the non-compliant in many countries Faithbrah mentions to rebuff an objection that this is not concerning.
At some point, this demand is going to kick a hornet's nest. It's my impression that a significant number throughout the world wouldn't comply with strict mandates for quarantine or tolerate heavy-handed coercion about it.Bench: 350

I’m actually curious how many of us are vaccinated in the Nut section.
I am, and I know strawng and Heisman are…
Obviously your choice to share or not, but would be interesting to see what the distribution is."When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"

I am, got it after having covid, which was a joke, 2 days sinus congestion and a light cough; only got the vaxx because work mandated 2x weekly testing unless vaxxed. Now they put a vaxx mandate in place, I think sometime in Jan is the final date, plenty of people talking a big game how they will quit or be fired before getting it, but it's all BS; nowhere pays this much that they can get with just a HS diploma or GED, and most places mandated it anyways.

Required, nasal swab 2x per week, it sucked. They were doing contact tracing too, so anyone you were around over the last 2 days also got sent home for 2 weeks. It fcking decimated us, we were so short staffed they did outcalls for overtime '70 jobs and counting, call us before we call you', pretty much ran the prison on lockdown status for months. Some days I was literally the only officer on the yard, other than the control booths, I got to be the Sergeant and all 4 Security Patrol Officers, sht was a nightmare.
They calmed way down on it after they realized how liable they were if things went bad.Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
