American Barbell Gym Bar knurl question

Does anyone have an American Barbell Gym Bar? I'm thinking about picking one up this week and wondering how close the knurl gets to the collar. There's definitely a space and I'm hoping it's similar to my PowerSpeed bar, which has 5.5" without knurl. I think it's likely less and I emailed AB but haven't heard back yet.

Looking at getting stainless steel but the chrome version has a better photo:

I used them regularly when I programmed Barbell movements.

I'm not sure on the spacing but hope this maybe helps you figure it out.

For reference, my wrists are just over 2.25 inches wide, if you want to make a relative approximation.

That does help, thanks! Looks like it might work for me. How did you like using the bar?

On the cosmetic side, it looks great. The sleeves don't have side play, unlike cheaper barbells I've used where the sleeves move side to side.

It feels noticeably thicker than 28mm and 28.5mm bars, which is weird because it's only 29mm. IMO makes it a better bar for benching and squatting.

The knurl isn't too aggressive, it doesn't really bite hard compared to power bars. But it's not smooth like an old barbell either. Somewhere in the middle. You could perform olympic lifts without ripping your hands open.

Overall it's a great all purpose barbell.

When comparing it to the Rogue Ohio Bar in Stainless, the difference is that the Rogue bar is thinner, has more whip, no center knurl. The American Barbell bar is thicker, more solid, has center knurl.

    Hope this helps bro!
