Depends, 11/15-12/15 we did 11.98% (were up to 40% at one point but the binance drama caused us to have to close some trades at a L to get funds off incase of insolvency of market). 12/15-1/15 we did 25.98%, now in 15 days we've hit 114%... The reason being is we lacked a lot of volatility prior to the last 2 weeks. Regardless of direction there is money to be made, but moving sideways causes the profit potential to go down significantly. As long as the market is making moves and having some real volatility, it makes it a lot easier to profit. Stagnation/tiny 1-2% ranging is not good.

well I already bought shib in 2021 and added more. I should've just bought all in at the beginning and sold it all at the top around October 21 I believe. I initially bought in april of that year on uniswap.

The reason I think it might be big is because it already has brand recognition. it's available almost on all the exchanges.

i feel that people that are getting into the gamble side of crypto will want to have "buying power". I wasnt sure if that was the right term, but i feel like people will want to get more of a coin for their dollar. and there isn't too many coins that are that cheap per unit.

And they have this thing in the shib community of "knocking off another zero". So if you get a lot of people thinking the same way, maybe the next run will really push it up. And if you are already positioned well, you get to make the big bucks.

Makes sense and I figure just a matter of time before it spikes again

I know people say not to keep coins on the exchange, not your keys etc

but for chitcoins your planning to buy and dump, i think it is better to keep on exchage.

why? cause what if you are not at home and it starts a major pump and you need to get out? you're not gonna bring your trezor with you everywhere are you?

I think the hardware wallets are more for your long term holdings like btc, eth, and sol you wont be selling right away. but chitcoins like shiba, doge, and gala that you need to flip should stay on exchange

A watched pot never boils. Theres also nothing to talk about. 50-200% on most all coins across the entire market in the past 2 months. Nothing to really write home about. Most tourists have roped, and OG's know the name of the game at this point is to hurry up and wait until your number is picked. Theres some alpha hunting but that doesnt take long. Plus this late in the game crypto has gotten fkn ghey as chit and isn't really that fun to talk about anymore aside from major drama. This isn't 2017 anymore. The discussions now are why dogcoin x is better than dogcoin y or which jpg has the "coolest" community. All very ghey. I would guess most of us are all much more passive at this point and rolling more heavily into btc, eth with some dry powder sitting in some moonshots or seasonal narratives.

If you have under 8 figures then yes you're spread too thin. There's literally no point having tiny amounts in a bunch of coins, it just distracts you and divides your focus so that you end up fumbling the whole lot.

The diversification is also how they get chopped thin. There are people that probably have a 10+ bag of this last cycles alts instead of new scams. Probably not going to make good gains if you have a portfolio made up of 2022 reddit coins. They will make good money if they can sell the next pico top, but theres better gains in new chitcoin scams. Almost forgot about the margin trading too. Seen way too many people blow up their whole bag on it. Seen a few edge cases of people making tons of money with big margin bets, but seen much more rope stories.

A lot of **** is up 50-100% with some up 5-10x. Sure this is not a real bull run but still significant gains to be made if your active in this space

Even with a lot of this stuff being up, most people are still underwater. Some people clawed their way out from DCA and some are trying to claw their way out through next generation scams. I wan't to be perma bull, but this market is giving me an uneasy feeling. I have that gut feeling that theres more pain to come and we might be in a temporary suckers rally before some more long term pain.

Anyone else have any thoughts? Im a big proponent of sentiment and this year long bear market didnt feel painful enough. Only one year and people are back to bidding up Bed Bath and Beyond while eggs are $7 a carton lol. I have some fat bags still but feel like taking just a little off the table soon maybe just for the sake of having a small win if things get nukepilled.

I don’t think we’re in a bull market but more of a relief rally. 2022 was basically straight down and this is the first significant mean reversion for the market as whole. Doesn’t mean the bottom is not in and we can retest close to it. Think 2023 is a sideways/chop/accumulation year with plenty of ups and downs.

The SEC ruling is really bad. BUT I think there is silver lining that pro-crypto entities could counter sue the SEC. There is nothing the books for the SEC to go after cryptos like it has with this.

Why is it so bad? So people can't stake on Kraken anymore. Why are people holding and staking on a CEX anyway? Specially after all the BS that has happened on exchanges.
