    7/10.

Would be 8/10 if you had brown grain and wild rice.
Would be 9/10 if you had some ice cream or other dessert in the background.
Would be 10/10 if there was some sexy woman in the picture.

btw, the salmon looks undercooked in the picture. I grill or fry mine until it is grey for 60% on the heat side, then I flip it and get it grey throughout. But don't worry about it. Intestinal parasites in undercooked salmon are only in 5-10 percent of the salmon population sold for food.

Sure, looks great, especially if everything's cooked from scratch.

I'd try some different rice recipes, or even risotto. Herb or parm cheese risotto would go well with salmon.

I've made a few salmon dishes recently that I thought were great:

Tuscan salmon, a nice tomato cream sauce.

Honey garlic salmon, mainly sweet but also lemony, tastes good extra spicy.

I’d prefer the veggies a little less soggy, but this is a staple meal of mine!

Highly recommend sprinkling a little sesame seeds on the salmon and rice too

I take a pill occasionally to wipe out intestinal parasites. It's a real thing here.

Seared salmon is actually really nice. The filets can break apart in the pan if you're not careful, but worth the effort for the aesthetics and texture.

I can't answer that with any real knowledge, but I'd guess eventually they'd go to the hospital and the doctor would treat them. Or they'd die at home and people would say, "He was sick for a long time." Sometimes they're blase about death here. I could tell a story of something I saw but it's probably too much information.

If you're young and generally healthy, you may have low-grade or no symptoms, depending on the organism. You have things like Microsporidia which was not on anyone's radar until people with HIV started coming down with it. Healthy people would likely resolve the organism without noticing they were ever infected.

This is a game changer. I just picked up this Furikake seasoning from Trader Joes and it is 10/10 on a salmon/rice combo.

Will bear in mind the sesame seed idea, sounds good.

Yeah, on the vegetables I just had a frozen mix bag and boiled a thin layer of water dry and then added some butter, so it is a bit soggy. Fresh would be better but was working with what I had.

Also, it was undercooked but I did that on purpose as I've come to find it tastes much better erring on that side rather than fully done. If I get a parasite oh well. (The packaging said that it was wild caught from Chile - not sure if that risk is higher or lower from a fish farm.)

Such a delicious meal though. Expecting a solid workout today as I always find eating fish and rice the night before does me one good the next day.

    Bump.

Today, it's a lentil dish I randomly made with ingredients that seemed to go well together:
    1/2 cup green lentils (dry)
    1/2 pound grass-fed 85/15 ground beef
1 small red onion caramelized in ~1tbsp olive oil
    10oz can diced tomatoes

seasoned with salt, black pepper, curry powder, turmeric and garlic powder.

Tastes amazing actually... I know a lot of you guys aren't keen on red meat but this is actually a great flavor complement.

EDIT: Having some issues with the pic but I think you get the idea. Will add later if it goes through.

I eat red meat, just trying to limit it somewhat. Carmelized onions are a good start, but need to through in some shallots and/or garlic in the saute, some thin sliced mushrooms and a bunch of fresh ground pepper, then throw in some red wine or cooking sherry and reduce it.

Yeah some chopped or smashed garlic in the stir fry for a bit before you throw in food will do wonders for flavor, as will marinating your meat in some combo of wine, sherry and/or soy sauce.

Once you put the meat in, you can add a bit of corn starch into the remaining marinade and pour it over the stir fry to make sauce/gravy.

Good thoughts... I did have some wine and soy sauce, actually. Unfortunately no fresh garlic. None of that would have automatically occurred to me.

Half a pound? That would just get stuck between my teeth. This is what I had for dinner yesterday.

I normally would eat the entire pound and devote most of the day's calories to it, but I'm deciding to finish strong on this cut and keep a nice 1,000 calorie deficit which is high but still not so extreme that I can't train effectively at all.

Hamburger Helper always gave me a headache. Probably MSG. I like making my own stroganoff though.

I didn't consume the pound of hamburger in one sitting though. Had an early dinner around 4:30 and a late dinner around 7:30.

To each their own, but why would you eat two dinners only a few hours apart? Wouldn't you rather eat a bigger dinner and just have it once?

I had a post-event meeting for that charity banquet/auction last weekend. The meeting was right during my dinner time so I ate half before and half after.

There were a few hundred leftover cans of the stuff that was in the back of my truck at the meeting. Thought it would be prudent to not go there with an empty stomach. We emptied the cans at the meeting and it made me hungry again. That was my late dinner.

Ah light [beer] dinner as round two. Makes sense.
