So this is what I came up with after watching some YouTube ideas on it.
Thoughts?
Biggest flaw is heavier weights will not work with this stance
Also, a bar on my shoulders would be better resistance

I thought the idea of sissy squats was that you don't move at the hip - just the knee... this seem more like a very upright squat.
I do it by using a fixed bar at shoulder height just for support - and then bend over backwards, trying to keep the hip angle fixed - just bending from the knee. The bar is there to help keep balance - but also, you can resist with your hands on the way up, especially near the top where it's too easy otherwise.

Ok.
So the free standing sissy squat is og as f and doesn't need s bench.
The bench sissy squat, its actually frequently.
A) misused for ego
B) used with a regression to make it very easier when s full rep can't be performed. Which is likely what is being performed here, and that's fine.
I can't do full full reps any more. Much like a full rom nordic with cincentric.
See spoiler for how the rep is meant to look.
Spoiler!
I actually prefer to do them old school style on the sled hack squat. Given they are essentially an 'isolation' they feel like Much nicer balance between load, stretch and stability requirements (which I don't really think matters for an iso)

Unrelated thought, but I wonder. Are one foot sissy squats possible? Like say if you wanted to cut off assistance from the other leg?

The "modern" sissy squat like in that original video is such a f'n joke. Most average gym-goers couldn't do a true sissy squat, let alone rep with weight.
Here's a couple vids I found quick. They seem OK:
6minute mark:
and the Gironda Sissy:
Lifting. Hockey. Headbanging.
