Lightbulb Hi! I'm trying to lower my body fat% and I need some help

I am not overweight, my BMI is considered normal, but I am really into volleyball. I want to get a lean body so I can preform better at my sport. Currently there really isn't any muscle that's showing because of my layer of fat, there isn't much, but its still bothering me a bit. I also would want to increase my vertical jump so I can finally spike without timing it so much. touching the rim would be really nice. The closest gym is really far so I can only do workouts at home.

FYI I am 5,7 and weigh 143 pounds.
any tips and workout routines would help
Also I would like if someone suggested a diet for me because I have absolutely no idea how to count calories and what is good and what isn't
    I apreciate any help

You're not likely to get any muscle definition by dieting at this point. You'll just look like a smaller version of your current self.

BTW, adding muscle almost always makes you a better athlete, you shouldn't worry about getting "too big"

As a beginner, eat when you’re hungry. Make sure to eat something high in protein a couple times a day. Find a good program and train hard. You will get great results. No diet necessary.

got it thanks! I am on a workout routine at this point, I have worked out for 7 days already, the first few days were a nightmare because everything was hurting, but now it doesn't really hurt and I can feel that I can do the workouts easier.

I do want to add muscle, especially on my arms and calves. Also losing a bit of belly fat would be awesome xD

Adding muscle is the main reason I started working out. I am currently working on my arms and legs, but I do work on my whole body in general. I would also like to lose a bit of my belly fat xD
