I don't buy the 'climate change' narrative at all.
Of course, that doesn't mean we shouldn't continue to take logical steps to minimize our impact, in all aspects, on our Mother Earth.
Coming from a geology education climate change does not manifest itself within the insignificant earthly time frames (cosmically & geologically speaking) that humans live by.
We haven't been on this planet long enough to determine any accurate 'climate change' assessments.
Events that believers want to characterize as 'climate change' are just part of the occasional weather anomalies.

    But....what do I know...that's just me.

I believe climate change is a real thing, I have spent time in the Arctic periodically from the mid 70's to late 90's. Over these years I have seen a drastic change in the deteriorating ice conditions. I haven't been there in over 20 years but people I am in contact with that live there assure me that things have gotten even worse in that regard. Routes previously unnavigable are now passable and even making the North West Passage a viable option as a shipping route. Just because you don't see it in your neck of the woods, don't kids yourself it's happening nearer the poles.

As to whether we are changing it or it's a natural change or a combination of both is open for debate, however, the fact remains, it is changing

This. I wouldn't call myself a climate change scientist, but I have gotten a little money from NSF for studying the impacts of climate change.

It's so obscured by the politics of it that I totally get people being skeptical of it and I'm 100% in agreement with ridiculing the hypocrisy of the elite posers. I wish they'd acknowledge that there's uncertainty just like there's uncertainty in all science.

But something is happening. It being caused by man is reasonable, but again I wouldn't say it's as certain as the politicians would like me to say.

And I'm not sure it's the #1 environmental issue or maybe even an environmental issue. It's shifting the environment, but the biggest impacts are on humans because we've built where we've built based on the climate of the past millennium.

So I'm stuck in the middle between the exaggerating alarmists and the dismissive skeptics.

Whether it is natural cycle of change or not, some politicians and most activists preach as if the USA is the only contributor. China and Russia are both massively more contributors of carbon emissions and the activists don't even call them out, which really cancels out their very poor arguments.

Biden cut off the US' Keystone Pipeline and other energy sources and just this week he begged OPEC to increase oil output, when the US has all the energy we need at our feet. OPEC told Biden to pound sand.

^^ Great post. It sums up my thinking as well. As you mention, once something becomes politicized, getting to the truth is very difficult because you've got agendas obscuring everything. When reporting on scientific topics, the media almost always gets it wrong, or simplifies to the point of absurdity, which is unfortunate given that it represents the source 99% of us use to form opinions on these topics. That is why I am somewhat agnostic. Short of scouring the voluminous primary research on the topic (with no background in climate science), it is hard for me to formulate a strong opinion on the contributions to climate change.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

I've done "Cold weather package" I know of what you speak. Global warming is a real thing. How calculable it is, well that is puzzling. How much does it get overblown by the shock jocks that have shows in the media is what turns people off. But yes it is a real thing.

I have read enough to understand that the earth warms and cools in cycles, some of them can be as short as a few hundred years. Read about the Vikings who settled in Greenland. But there is no doubt human activities are having an impact, especially in the last 200 years.

    Just like anything else.

If the media and politicians are overhyping it and pushing a certain agenda really hard, Its always going to be fake.

    Always.

if it were real, they would not need to force feed it to us all the time.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Fully agree. India is a big contributor.

The Earth goes through cycles of cooling and warming, some cycles longer than others. Hurricanes and flooding and warming have been around since the beginning of time. Look up the 1900 and 1906 hurricanes and their devastation. To politicize and completely eliminate entire industries and millions of jobs instantly, instead of at least gradually reducing while working on alternatives, would have been a smarter path.

Now, Biden is begging OPEC to increase output after he eliminated our own production and the Saudis and Russia told him to pound sand. Biden goes to Europe with a delegation of people to promote Climate Change agenda and China doesn't even show up, but they and Russia do laugh at us. Not beating on Biden because of his party. I don't care who the president is.

Amazing how millions of people can be influenced and accept misinformation mainly because it falls in their political ideological side. To go against it or have your own opinion these days will cost friends and possibly even your job and set you up to be ridiculed on cable "news" and automatically called racist.

Division is the goal of politicians and the media.

As to whether we are changing it or it's a natural change or a combination of both is open for debate, however, the fact remains, it is changing
I agree with this. I know that a single year may not tell the entire story, but I think the trees in this area are at least 1-2 weeks behind where they were when I was growing up. My metric? Leaves on the ground trick or treating. As a kid trick or treating in the 70's, the leaves had always lost most all of their leaves (as I recall ), but very few leaves have fallen today (5 days after Halloween).

I would believe in man made climate change if someone could explain to me how man melted the 2 miles of ice that covered part of wisconsin in the last ice age or how man warmed the planet enough for the dinosaurs.

I'm no researcher in it so can't take a 100% certain stand, but the professors and lectures I chose to listen to as credible over here has given me the overall impression that it's all blown out of proportion. Over here they called it the "small iceage", in the 16 th or 17th century I believe, where it dipped low....and ever since there has been a gradual reversion to the overall long term mean. But if you chose to look at it just the last 100 yrs you will come to a different conclusion ofc.

The same professors also pulled overall ice mass on earth from some institute in Denmark/Greenland I think...and in that lecture showed no overall change in total ice mass. I guess it can retreat in some places, but noone counts where it increases perhaps?

I do agree with the overall sentiment to do what we can, but not turning it into some hysterical cult thing....and wish more could be invested into building new technologies instead of increasing taxes on everything not deemed green enough, as over here where they (among other things and not the worst) introduced a dollar charge on plastic bags which makes grocery shopping a pleasure. One inventor over here actually came up with a new bag that looked plastic but was bio degradable...but they still didn't let him off the hook for that extra dollar tax so he had to close up shop and lay off his employees even though he had solved the problem and reason for the extra tax.

Yup, the thing is over here they introcuded it after reports of all the plastic in the oceans worldwide etc. However there is a process for recycling all that here and no evidence of any of our own bags ever being in any ocean.
