Genghis Khan’s government could be looked at as quite good for the people themselves (the Mongolians) obviously being on the receiving end of his armies wouldn't have been fun. He had some good principles/ideas though.

And one I have been reading about lately, the Chinese Empire of the Tang seemed pretty good. Egalitarian, Buddhist-Confucian principled, cosmopolitan to a pretty good extent. Socially and economically vibrant. Hosted one of Imperial China's few female rulers Empress Wu, who is quite well regarded today.

It's very obvious he wanted to be in law enforcement. This means being an EMT, carrying a gun etc.. even if his intent was to get into a firefight, based on all evidence it's looking more and more that all his actions were due to imminent threats to his life. Every adult carrying a gun that day was carrying it for a reason. Because of violent instigators.

Take this with a grain of salt from a damn foreigner, but from what saw initially and still later on in vids etc it seems like a clear case of self defense against criminals and thugs out for destruction and chasing the guy down. What is he supposed to do?..lay down and let the mob take/kill him or defend himself? That is how the vast majority see it from what I gather, I think the jury may see it that way as well and if they don't all see it that way, it will be a hung jury, Things are looking good for him to beat this.

The prosecution (and the media) is grasping for straws on this one. The video seems to show that he was defending himself through and through. Today's testimony didn't do much to bolster the prosecution's case; the third person that he shot had drawn a pistol and was approaching the kid.

If you led people to believe you were a certified EMT yes it would be a lie. Come on Corbi, you know this.. He was a lifeguard. I am certified advanced first aid and CPR, in fact I taught it for a number of years but I am no way a certified EMT and it would be a lie if I said I was. There ia a huge difference between a lifeguard and a certified EMT

Most EMT programs are about six months long, and to get your certification, you have to take a state issued written and practical exam. Although it’s not a license, like a paramedic has, it’s still state issued and it is a requirement to run on an ambulance. Every ambulance has to have a minimum of one EMT or higher education. It would be considered than a BLS unit. ALS units must have a minimum of one EMT-B and one paramedic/EMT-p

I think that a curfew employed by any municipality is stupid, questionably legal, and ought to be challenged. Probably by those that are affected, but if outsiders wanna come join, then by all means do so.

But the fact is the prosecution decided to go after a person who fired 8 shots at 4 people, rather than prosecute 400 or so individuals, although the existence of FBI surveillance suggests that might actually have happened, without the shooting.

So sure the people there give it context but almost none of it matters until we get to the point of action/interaction with those around him, specifically related to Wisconsin's rulings on what qualifies self defense.

Unfortunately, since government is run by flawed people, it's been manipulated and twisted to suit individual desires, rather than the people governed. I think the founders had a pretty solid grip on the realities of human nature and set up a solid system. It's not their fault that the folks that came after them started screwing it up less than a hundred years after it was signed. The 17th amendment on it's own is a massive and fatal blow to the original system.
