Capable of 3800+ mph and low altitude, fitted with a conventional or nuclear warhead, it is definitely something to be concerned about.

How's the status of the chinese technology to counter a US nuclear retaliation strike, just in case China would (for whatever reason) decide to nuke the US with these new missiles? First strike weapons don't mean anything when second strike capability is so ensured. The US has hundreds of warheads on subs, it doesn't matter who swings first. So this ultimately doesn’t change the MAD equilibrium, unless China can deal with sub-launched missiles.

Doubtful. Taking the island by force would make the locals even more antagonistic against China, likely requiring a large occupation force to keep a lid on public unrest. A conflict would likely devastate the island's economy and the global economy with it (Taiwan is the world's biggest manufacturer of computer chips and processors) making it of less value to China financially.
South Korea, Japan and Philippines have defense pacts with the US. The US is committed to their defense. Taiwan-US relations act is carefully worded so that the US is not committed for anything. The US can help or provide assistance, but the US is not committed to anything. But yeah, potential for a direct conflict with the US could seriously hurt China, a net importer of both fuel and food.
China is much better off trying to win over Taiwan with carrots than sticks. To resist despair
