Again, I don't know..but I saw it as debate, not full on arguing. Not everyone who replied reacted the same way.
Lol, and I wish I can agree with you on that last part where the discussions were I genuinely seek help go differently. Honestly, there have been times when I was feeling that way and you wanted to say something snarky right off the bat based on past threads. Ok, you say it's snarky because of my lack of knowledge. Well, what makes you think everyone must have your level of knowledge too then? Maybe you think you already know so much that you invariably put yourself higher without realizing it. I can say that there are other people who weren't snarky despite my 'lack of knowledge' as you suggested to being a contributing factor. Maybe we just gotta accept we can't win everyone over. If you went by a different username altogether, I would still be able to single you out! What does that say about you? Come on now. I guess that if you spend a lot of time on these forums without taking a hiatus, you end up growing impatient with lesser morons, scum lifters like me, it changes you. Tommy brought up a good point. And strangely enough, I can't blame you entirely. Perhaps the air2fakie in his early stages on these forums had a lot more wonder to him until someone came along and just jaded him.Last edited by Animal2692; 09-30-2021 at 08:45 PM.

Debating has led to a lot of progress throughout history, but sadly it's being shunned more and more because having a dissenting opinion these days is frowned upon. I got all the help I needed in this thread and learned much more than I bargained for. This may not amount to much for you, but I really appreciated your patience with that link I shared and your objectivity as well as everyone else who was just as tolerant. Paul, you're funny as always with your humor in good faith.
I don't care for being on these forums as much as I used to with the exception of the subject of this thread that was recently on my mind. I'm back on a hiatus, I'd say some people here could really benefit from one as well. I've had enough internet for tonight, goodnight folks"The first human who hurled an insult instead of a stone was the founder of civilization." -Sigmund Freud

I agree. Many people spin their wheels bulking.
If they cannot contain themselves, progressing on maintenance will probably lead to better results as they will spend (on average) more time in conditions favourable to muscle building.
If they can contain themselves, I believe bulk/cut will be superior. The volume you will be able to handle on a bulk is much higher and if you can keep bulking for a long time that sustained higher volume will lead to greater progress.
I am also open to the idea that some people are genetically prone to gaining a lot of fat while bulking. They may also benefit from just progressing at maintenance or slightly above.
But these terms - maingaining, gaintaining, lean bulking etc tend to muddy the waters in my opinion. TommyW usually recommends that you eat as much as you can to gain muscle with minimal fat. Depending on the lifter, that can lead to either of the mentioned approaches. So we don’t need all of these confusing definitions. The first principle is that you must not fool yourself—and you are the easiest person to fool.
