Any feedback on Iron master Quick-Lock Dumbbells?

Listed around USD-750 in their site for 75 lbs set with a stand.
Wondering if any personal experience & really worth for this price.
I have their IM Bench (recommended by this forum) & seriously impressed with it.

I had the IM Dumbell set that went to 120lbs and liked them a lot. If space again became an issue I wouldn’t hesitate to to get another pair. As a matter of fact, I kept the IM set for several years after collecting my set of York dumbells.

Yes, it is worth the price, and the weight is also easy to change, and it feels great in hands.

I have the 45 lb set. Love them! They feel great, are easy to adjust, and are SOLID. The issue right now is actually getting a set. The demand for them far outstrips the supply. They are doing a lottery system. I have tried to "win" the lottery, but have yet to be selected. I still want to get the 75 lb upgrade kit, but who knows when that will be available. I actually bought mine used, in excellent condition on ******** marketplace.

Ironmasters are pretty neat but the drawback I found is they are too long and harder to balance because of that. Also, they tend to hit body parts while doing some exercises. IMO pro style is much better since the handles are shorter and the weight distribution is closer to the hands. Get pros if you have the space and budget.

they are worth the price if you don't have space for full sets of dumbbells. I have them now for around 8 years and they look almost as new takes little longer to change weight but with time you get used to it. I Tried powerblocks but can't get used to box shape around my wrists so they been in corner go my gym since bought them.

Get them and then get the 20lb heavy handle kit. This would make a 45lb kit 60lbs and a 75lb kit 90lbs. This fixes the "handle too long" issue but makes the minimum weight of the dumbbell 20lbs. that isn't an issue for me. for lighter lifts i just use a 10lb plate, but I did get a pair of 10lb and 15lb cheap hexes for challenging cardio.

They are worth it. I have two pairs of the 75 lb IronMasters and one pair of 45 Hoist (original version of IM). I have these in my mini gym in my garage, along with a 90 lb set of Power Blocks. Those four sets are used almost every workout at home. My fully equipped gym is at my office and I have a full set of Roundheads there.

The Iron Master knurling and handle size is perfect for me. I like having multiple sets at home because I don't like to change the weight when working out. The four DB sets are adequate for a single short workout. I can easily change the weight of the DBs for the workout I plan on doing. When I workout, I lift without worrying about changing them, not that it takes a long time to change or is difficult. The PowerBlocks are slightly easier and faster to make weight changes.

The 75 lb IM dB are fine for the exercises I do. I can imagine the added length of the 120 set would be cumbersome. When it comes to lifting heavy DBs, I prefer using fixed DBs, not adjustable.

i tried my buddy's year back, liked them way better than my powerblock pro rexans but not enough to warrant selling mine for some iron masters.

if i were starting over today i'd go with the nuobell, the speed to change of the powerblocks with the look of a traditional ironmaster.

An important consideration is if you are the type of lifter who may drop the dumbbells after a lift. I don't always gently place my dumbbells on the floor after a tiring set.

IronMaster DBs are all metal and droppable (not throwable - that is misuse of equipment). The NÜOBELL has plastic parts and I would not consider them to be droppable.

Yes that’s one major plus of the iron master that I liked, they seem very robust. Keep in mind even at the gym I don’t drop dumbbells I definitely wouldn’t do it to my own but accidents do happen.

My plan was since I can get good money for my 85 pound powerblocks right now the nuobells were an option. But, if I face the same concern as a powerblock I don’t want to take that chance. Powerblocks are decent but the iron masters seem like they can handle way more abuse if something goes wrong.

I guess there will always be a trade off when trading speed and ease of use for build quality.

My pair has kept me sane during COVID-19. Need more weight though. Probably gonna get some pancake plates to make them heavier since IM is sold out all the time.

Agreed, the Heavy Handle kit is a must. I found them almost unusable over 80lbs for me due to balancing issues. I was going to sell them before I found out what the Heavy Handle kit actually did. They need to name it better, I just kept browsing over it when I saw it in stock. Now they're perfectly functional for me.
