Thumbs up Dennis Wolf Appreciation Thread

Who else thinks Dennis deserved an Olympia? The guy was built freakin' awesome, massive v-taper, and really well balanced. Does anyone think he should have beat Jay in 2007? To this day, I'll never forget the Muscular Development spread that was comparing Jay and Dennis at the 2007 Olympia, and he literally mogged Jay in every pose (IMHO).

    Thoughts?

His lower body was decidedly not balanced at all .
He was a really good bodybuilder but Olympia material...not sure. His structure was amazing but he had gaps in his phisique. The high lats and weak calves made him very beatable in the 3 back poses.
From the side he was good but not exceptional
Front poses yes he was amazing, especially FLS and AT and even MM.
Jay was off in 2007 but he still had some strengths, and the incumbent effect.

True statements for sure. Although I feel weak calves are often overlooked (ala Ronnie Coleman). Dennis had high lats, sure, but his rear lat spread was wicked. I noticed particularly in 2007 that Jay was more dense in the middle of his back than Dennis. But I do feel his rear lat spread was more impressive for his lat width and smaller waist.

Ronnies weak calves were overlooked because he didnt stand next to Yates during his run. They werent a liability next to Flex, Levrone or even Jay.
Agree on the RLS, Dennis had great width AND a great taper due to his narrow waist, which is a rather rare combo. His lower lats still hurt him in it though.
Jays lower lats werent hot stuff either, but i do think his RLS is among the best ever just because of the immense width.Personally I rate PRIME Jay Cutler RLS above say 2011 Heath RLS.

That was epic! You can tell Dennis put a TON of time into perfecting his craft. I really feel like he could have won an Olympia if things didn't shake out the way they did.

Right there with you brother. Dennis was a machine and really well balanced, I feel like he got robbed in several placings over his career.
