That isn't an effect on 'thriving'

    not dying =/= thriving....

They probably ate bugs and random plants too... it doesn't mean there's something special about those items either...

You're quoting someone who is big because of genetics and drugs...

Pro bodybuilders don't even know why they do what they do 99% of the time... believe me, he'd be just the same with or without red meat.

They also believe that fish 'thins the skin', that dairy makes you 'puffy', and so on... and so on...

I don't think relying on someone whose body is driven by genetics and would be in the .0001% with or without any kind of training knowledge is a good idea for this subject. They would be amazing no matter what they did.

None of those nutrients you mentioned are unique to red meat... so again, it's not the fact that it's red meat. The name of a food doesn't make it special.

Not to mention, if bodybuilders mainly eat more red meat in the off-seasion, why would it be superior? It's higher in CALORIES, yeah, but that doesn't make it better in any other context.

Most of the time when they start cutting, they're trying to maintain mass as much as possible, so you'd think that logically they'd choose the best foods especially during THAT period when energy is scarce... and yet they switch to egg whites, chicken, fish... etc.

I'm not saying red meat is 'bad'... but let's not get into the kind of tribalism we also see in KETO/Carnivore crowds where people assign special value to foods just because they like them.

If you like red meat, cool, eat it... it doesn't have to be magical for you to like it.

notice a pattern here, a greater number of successful bodybuilders (and professional athletes) use red meat as their main protein source. yes you do get your occasional pescatarian or vegan but in the end, there is something special about red meat. results are everything.

    No, they don't.

I would argue that the #1 source you'll ALWAYS see is chicken.

    Followed probably by eggs/egg whites...

    Then maybe red meat.

I didn't study for the ACT and got a 31. I barely studied for classes and got A's and B's. I barely studied in college and got a D my first semester in a class. Then I started studying.

Chicken is also cheaper and easier to use in a caloric deficit diet where you’re macros are super tight.

My earlier point was simply that the benefits of red meat are such that you can eat it once a week and it’s still an advantage. It was not to say that one should consume it every day.

Same with fish, except there might even be some evidence that suggests fish ED is possibly
Better in terms of health over many other forms of protein.

This wasn’t meant to be an absolute across the board. Anyone that claims that would be mistaken, IMO.

Sadly, they come with big issues:

Noisy roosters (if you have them)

They TRASH your yard (if you let them roam)

    They shyt everywhere...

They can be very very noisy

this thread is great, like all foods known for building slabs of muscle and increasing testosterone it gets attention especially from the closet fans of red meat.

been on these forums for about 7 months and have never seen a yogurt or granola thread go past a few replies without people falling asleep or more commonly not even give it a second glance.

think i'll celebrate by having a drink....wonder what kind of drink would be worthy in honor of this thread

Well, this thread is about red meat. Beefamato is the only commercially available beverage I know of that contains beef.
