I have noticed that I am craving red meat like crazy while bulking. Just made me wonder if there are particular benefits to red meat for bodybuilding. Or maybe it is just me who is looking for reasons to justify my meat intake...
The old school guys ate a lot of red meat and Serge Nubret took this approach to the extreme (https://www.google.no/amp/s/amp.body...-maverick.html)

Is there something special about red meat?
The first principle is that you must not fool yourself—and you are the easiest person to fool.

I'll eat raw meat every now and then. One time I bought some steaks that were quite inexpensive and quite tough. So I sliced it up and put it in a bag with bloody mary mix to tenderize it. I had probably a 5 day supply. Some friends came over and long story short I put a plate of raw meat in front of them and they ate it all. It looked cooked after it was marinated. Whiskey was involved.

We are red meat, it most closely matches our amino acid profile.
Look at the most successful people in the world (athletes, businessmen, etc). You don’t hear of any banning red meat.
Having some won’t hurt you. Focus on quality red meat, preferably grass fed organic.
I was at a point of eating a dozen eggs a day along with minimum pound of red meat a day for months. Zero issues.

What do you mean ‘our amino acid profile’?
Different red meads have different amino acids…
I’d love to see a breakdown of the amino profile in human meat if you have that.
Also, in a diet consisting of multiple sources of aminos, the profile of one single food is largely irrelevant"When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"

Red meat packs a punch for BCAAS, vitamins and minerals. In fact, I remember reading articles years ago about how, both red meat and brain, had the nourishment to last a week or more for early man. During the gatherer phase of human life, it could have been essential for them to scavenge these. That being said, eggs too were vital though, but most likely because of the ease of gathering and preparing.

It is a compelling argument when you find that some tribes in the far north depending solely on fish for the nourishment. They had no other choice because of the frozen land. Can’t say for certain, but I would imagine there was some genetic adaptation that improved their health as a result. Could also it be that they were no other options for “unhealthy“ foods too?

this
i keep telling people you have to eat according to your genetics, we're not all the same.
i've had my dna raw data downloaded at a site that does this, had a report done with details on what i should and shouldn't be eating and what works best for me. a great example i found out i shouldn't be taking supplemental vitamin E and unbeknownst to me should avoid gluten even though i show no allergic reactions.
