5 felt like a spin-off. I liked the idea of Tommy Gun. The plot with his son was stupid though, the kid went from a child in Rocky IV to an adult with a career in Rocky V, yet only a few years supposedly passed. It fukked up the timeline.
Worst part about 5 by far, though, was the soundtrack. None of the epic Rocky, Bill Conti or Frank Stallone stuff. No Survivor or Foreigner or other AOR rock. Forgot what they had in Rocky 5 but even as a kid I was like "WTF is this soundtrack?"

Rocky V was in 1990. Rocky's son was still a school kid. It was 'Rocky Balboa' in 2006 where Rocky's son is a grown man with a career.

They are all good in their own way, even Rocky V. The whole 'Tommy Gunn' story is based somewhat on Mike Tyson's rise as a boxer under Cus D'amato. It is more of a family drama than an action movie like 4 was.

4 is prolly still my favourite. Best training, best music, best final battle.

The first Rocky is one of the greatest movies of all time.

I rate 2 the worst coz it's just a copy of 1 with a different result. So not bad, just kinda pointless.

3 and 4 are different and different from each other and both pretty entertaining.

3 was great, especially if you saw it in the 80's before 4 existed. 5 was the only one I didn't like when it came out, I equate it to the Karate kid with Hillary Swank, not really part of the franchise.

1 was by far the best. The club fights. His interactions with mickey, specially when he takes his locker and when Mickey asks to be his manager. Paulie and even the cute date with Adrian. Apollo creed intro, his dream of just going the distance and the fight itself.

No.1 is probably my favourite movie of all time. Helps that I’m a boxer so I might be bias, but it’s 10x more inspiring than raging bull.

Rocky 4 was awesome. Anything drago hit, he breaks. Training scenes, soundtrack, final fight. If Rocky can change then you can change. Such a Cold War messaging too lol.

My son and I watched all of them again last winter/spring and also watched Creed and Creed II for the first time. I'd prob say Rocky 1 and 4 are my faves.
