The US now admits that a drone strike in Kabul days before its military pullout killed 10 innocent people, an official has told the BBC's US partner CBS News.
An investigation found the August 29 strike killed an innocent aid worker along with nine members of his family, including seven children.
The youngest victim was aged just two.
US intelligence had tracked the man's car for eight hours, believing it was linked to terrorist group IS-K.
The strike was one of the US military's final acts in Afghanistan, before ending its 20-year military operation in the country.

I'm going to guess your opinion is "good, that strike eliminated potential future terrorists".
I think it's fukked up and obviously our intelligence gathering isn't all it's cracked up to be. Same $hitty intelligence claimed the country wouldn't fall into Taliban hands, amongst so many other wrong calls. Any other business the heads would be rolling & firings happening if this sort of crap happened."You know that little thing in your head that keeps you from saying things you shouldn't? Yeah, well, I don't have one of those."

Every sitting president would have authorized the same action. A mistake was made. A very grievous mistake. Trump, Obama, and Bush all killed civilians.

Pretty good example of why the war on terror was such a f*ckn be disaster. Suicide bombers kill some 200 civilians, and in response a day later the US drone strikes 10 more. Yet people are still baffled about how Afghanistan didn't coalesce around western democracy. To resist despair

I think it's a commander in chief who has shown he's incapable of critical thinking "issue" at this point....
I wasn't a big fan of Obama, but I'm confident even he wouldn't have pulled the trigger on this latest sh*t show that killed a 2 year old...
the sad part is, in ten years or so he won't have to look back on this damage he's done (and will do) because by then he'll be locked away like Reagan was with dementia....
I'd bet on it based on what I see on his "bad days"

IDK I don’t think we are at that point with Biden yet. I'm not defending the drone strike but the whole thing was a mess as low level commanders were given authority to authorize drone strikes that normally would have to go higher up the chain to be approved. This is the kind of tragedy that happens when a war is fought and is one of the reasons why it's good we withdrew.
In the end the President and Lloyd Austin cleared drone strikes in general and it was a bad decision because this administration has been entirely too focused on optics. Biden wanted his vengeance headline…. and it backfired in a terrible way.To resist despair

Do you have an original thought of your own or do just parrot everything you see on your far right echo chambers? Every post of yours is like reading the transcript from one of these goofy OAN shows.
But do go on about how I'm a typical liberal.
You addressed everyone who voted for Biden. I voted for Biden so I responded to you with a big fuk you back. I'm also high as hell so I'll likely forget this whole convo tomorrow but until then...fuk you☻/
