I just caught vibes of a father allowing political identity to have to much influence on his parenting. I very well could be wrong.

Parents will always have political influence on their kids.

Liberal parents will raise their kids to be little communists. Conservative parents will raise their kids to have traditionalist values. A parent's political view will always, always influence their child-rearing methods.

Politically, I am Libertarian - Ron Paul type (although I voted for Trump twice).

I raise my kids to embrace freedom and liberty. I raise them to have Faith in God. I raise them to be Patriots and to be self-sufficient. I raise them to distrust evil gubmint. They know that if they fail at life, it is their fault and not the White people's fault.

Despite the caricature of what a "liberal" is the bolded isn't fair. Besides religion we pretty much raise our kids the same way as you - and my wife is a liberal. The us vs. them mentality does more harm than good.

My best friend growing up had a Huffy bike with a basket on the front and a Ruger 10/22 rifle. He would ride his bike and ask local farmers if they had any pest problems we could handle, would hunt them on their land, and often bring home fresh meat for dinner for his family in the basket of his bike if the hunting was good. Rabbits, groundhog, possum, raccoon. (The last two I wouldn't eat nowadays due to all the trash they get into.)

The school parking lot had pickup trucks with loaded gun rucks and nobody locked their car doors. A lot of people would go fishing or hunting before school. You'd go over your friend's house after school and his dad would be dressing the deer right in the backyard. No big deal.

What's changed since then? I'll let you think on that one yourself.

Going to go out on a limb and say NG might know a bit more about Communism than the average Joe, since he has family in the Phillipines and has probably been there once or twice. Communism has been a problem there since 1930 and there are communist insurgents still proactive there.

I don't support a good many of his political views, we are opposites on some big polarising issues + I dislike politics

I’m gonna mention the difference, watching FOX news they show the border crossers living under the bridge, thousands, the TX governor is stating he’s gonna make arrests.

Someone on Fox a real conservative suggests we have a problem filling jobs, so vet these border crossers for disease and criminal backgrounds and fill these jobs.....
