Turkey day bloat. knew it was coming. Part of the plan. One more party Sunday. Hopefully bloat comes down by next weigh in, if not it's not a huge deal. More amused by how sh!tty I feel at this weight right now, which suggests I am adjusting to a new low as "normal"

Workouts were a mixed bag. I showed up, but mood and fatigue Friday were BAD. Definitely a day where showing up was a victory. It's weird how time off made me less interested in doing ANYTHING.

NSVs this week: sometime in the past 2-3 months or so I lost an inch off of each thigh even while the scale loss remained pretty unimpressive (hurray for less chub-rub.) That's roughly a 1.6% loss in body fat. I also found out a workout partner pushes himself harder when we lift together. That's an amazing complement, especially since I've been actively working to help this guy feel better about lifting with us.

Not the direction I wanted to be going in but hopefully most of this is still water weight.
The freelance work should be all wrapped up on Tuesday or Wednesday so hopefully I'll stop munching and start losing again. Though honestly I am proud of my self. I usually end up binging when under this much pressure. In this case I've been so busy that I basically cut my walks out and have been hovering around 2000 steps a day instead of 10-12,000 steps.
Those'll be back in this week.
The next time I'm in a time crunch, I'm going to try to keep my activities going. Might take me a day or two longer but I'm sure I'll feel better.

0.7 kg loss this week. Very nice! Last Saturday I had "cheat meal" with a couple of glasses of wine due to a social event. I think Saturdays calories were roughly at maintenance. Other than that diet has been on point and it shows in scale.

A very good week for me calories/protein wise.
Shocked there wasn't a drop but yesterday I did complete quite a long walk with a ridiculous incline/climb. So my legs are absolutely burnt out today.
Overall very happy with where I am physically.
The only part of my body where I can really grab a chunk of fat is the love handles but that was mainly where my body stored it.
Definitely looking forward to a good 3 months of bulking and filling out a bit more.
Then I think another cut after should get me where I want to be.
15% body fat is still the end game for this cut, I believe I'm there or close certainly.
    Others would possibly disagree.
The navy tape is saying 14 but I dont think I am that...
    The calipers are saying 16.15%
Obviously no guarantees on either so I'll put a pic up in the last week see what everyone thinks.
Not easy guessing bodyfat when people store it differently.

so technically i am at my goals now for this cut....stoked....I am still going to my bigger goals - and will stay in the cut challenges until i get there sometime next year (prolly late spring/summer - but maybe sooner). my trend right now is about 0.5% total body weight loss per week with around 90% of that coming from fat.

1340cals (120p, 80c, 60f) - still here - but giving myself a little grace with the macros - as long as cals stay on point

Lethargic crappy feeling from last week lasted until Monday... After which I had high hunger for protein the rest of the week so I didn't restrict calories purposefully.

Workouts from the extended program continue to be a slog but more from length than sheer burn out now... my strength has noticeably gone up.

Really feeling drawn to the recomp side of my goal right now.

NSVs this week: dialing in my form on DL so I won't officially claim it, but it looks like my starting 1RM on DL is around 225. BP remains laughably close to 135 without hitting it, though my number of reps at 130 went up again. Squats still suck.

    Average calories 2423
    Average protein 209g

Calories bumped a higher than my last 2 weekly averages mainly due to an unplanned 50th birthday meal for the brother in law.
Which was probably planned in advance but when the wife speaks I just nod and agree 😆
Anyway it was a lovely Indian restaurant and I had the menu.
Got a good belly full and the runway is clear from now till the 23rd when I go out for Christmas beers with my friends.
I can start another thread up unless anyone wants to take the steering wheel as I will be bulking but as I said I will be sticking around 👍

Blaming pie for this one. lol. Got a free one from work and lost my way for a few days haha... Christmas events start this week with a day trip Sunday to the big city for my favorite Cajun restaurant (hopefully). Plan is to target maintenance calories overall the next 2 weeks but not be too strict about it. Would be nice to have a larger loss number from this cycle but I'm okay with it. I was dropping some mental weight too this cycle because of c19 and it's fallout. It will be nice to CONSCIOUSLY ease off a bit here.

Workouts were fun this week. The exercises in the program got switched up this week which made things interesting again.

NSVs this week: form improvements on DL and Squat, officially got my first full plate unassisted on BP, found a good chunky sweater which doesn't make me feel fat.

After I last posted on November 19th, I got a bit off track with some binge eating, gained some weight and now I’m back to where I was (94.1 kg) when I last posted:

    Sep 17th: 102 kg
    Sep 24th: 101.5 kg
    Oct 1st: 99.9 kg
    Oct 8th: 98.2 kg
    Oct 15th: 97.6 kg
    Oct 22nd: 96.9 kg
    Oct 29th: 97.0 kg
    Nov 5th: 95.8 kg
    Nov 12th: 95.7 kg
    Nov 19th: 94.1 kg
    Nov 26th: 96.7 kg
    Dec 3rd: 94.9 kg
    Dec 10th: 94.1 kg

Despite some short-term fluctuations, I’m happy with my long term progress - I had a work Christmas party where I saw many colleagues in person for the first time in 6 months, due to Covid lockdowns / working from home, and I had at least 3 people comment that I was looking noticeably slimmer which was nice.

    Shredded Santa Plan
    • Calorie Deficit for 6 weeks, starting around 500 calorie deficit, slowly ramping up deifict
    • Training Volume starting around Maintenance Volume, slowly ramping up volume
    • Training Frequency is 6x a week, Upper / Lower split
    • Week 6 will now be the deload week. Weight per lift will remain the same, weekly working sets will be cut in half, and reps performed will also be cut in half.
    • Goal is shredded by Christmas
    • Week 1 of the cut was around 2,300 calories a day which should be around a 500 calorie deficit, but ended up losing more than 1 lb a week, likely due to water weight loss.
    • Dropped to ~1,950 calories a day starting on week 3 and replacing bananas with a 500 mg potassium tablet, macros are still safe hitting my minimums
    • Training is going well, sessions are short, no brain fog yet.
    • Week 4 started daily cardio of 20 to 40 minutes (1 - 2 miles) of light walking.
    • 10 lbs lost in 5 weeks, I feel a lot less fluffy, I don't think I lost much muscle mass at all, good genetics for leaning strikes again

had a 0.5 increase this week. not super upset - though it would have been better if i had a loss...oh well. docs changed one of my meds and it caused some other weird stuff too - so prolly that - but still always a disappointment. i wouldnt mind a whoosh this friday tho?!? I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hit 185 by end of this challenge on christmas eve. not sure if i can pull it off - but with the slow progress since last month - i should do it anyway.

1300cals (120p, 70c, 60f) - ok - dropping down a bit more and gonna stick it here for next couple months - my anniversary is 2/14 - and im not trying to hit any goals by then - but its another bf testing date on my calendar - and hoping to be ~25% by then....also have a test before that on 12/31 - to make sure the numbers are working out the way i want them too

Adherence has been less good this week, but my activity level is up, so I still lost weight. My abs are the clearest they've ever been - I think I'm around 13% body fat. My Christmas holidays start now, so the diet is officially over and I didn't quite meet my revised goal.

Another 0.5kg lost. I am happy about that. I have been super hungry the past couple weeks and I am so waiting for the one week diet break which start at Christmas eve. I went from 134 kg to 93 kg between January 2017 and March 2019. Now I am at the same weight as back then, but carrying a little bit more fat and less muscle mass. Next step is to get under 90kg. I can't wait to see the scale showing a number starting with 8. I think last time that happened was maybe 2008. I am not 100% sure.

Bit the bullet so to speak this week and instead of my usual balance of carbs/fats I decided to go low carb.
Well certainly low for me anyway under 100g a day for the last week.
I'll run this till my Christmas break which starts next Wednesday.
I will be weighing in that day instead of Xmas eve as I'm very busy.
As I already stated earlier I am now in a position where I really need to have a while out of a defict for strength and mental purposes. Its been a long time for me in a small deficit since sept 2020.
I post pics on here at the end of every cut so hopefully get a nice comparison from sept 20 (240lbs) to next week hopefully under 190lbs.

I will be checking in on the next thread every couple of weeks and no doubt be back full time in April/May.

Hopefully my friend from the Mountains is going to take the torch and start the next thread! 🙏

Amused I lost weight this week because it follows my pattern of losing when I am aiming for gentle maintenance.

Workouts were good this week. Locked in my 225 DL PR, and upped my BP reps to 3 at 135. I think I'm going to tie my 2022 goals to key lift: body weight ratios rather than straight body weight... Need to workshop it though because it wouldn't necessarily give great feedback week to week...

NSV this week: did Arnolds for the first time since starting this workout program and my working weight for them is up.
