ID not required to vote. Need proof of a vaccine that is marginally effective in preventing transmission of a disease that has well below a 1% CFR to go to like a store. Sounds like "science".

Where I live, an ID and an Elections Canada card IS required to vote and although some think the vaccine passport is an impingement on personal freedoms, personal freedoms in Quebec will be severely impinged upon if you don't have a vaccine passport in the coming days. I got mine on September, 1 and it took all of 2 minutes to do.

Had lunch today with three of my golfing buddies, one's a doctor, an entrepreneur, a Mayor and the topic came up, the doctor said it wouldn't impact him either way, The Mayor said that he thought most businesses in his town were in favor, the entrepreneur was all for it and the restaurant owner (i asked his opinion) was in favor as well, they both said that they have been fielding calls asking if their establishments were vaccinated patrons only (they aren't) but both figured that business would improve if they were. This is a highly vaccinated area though and very few cases.

Time will tell I guess, I think it will vary from area to area depending on the vaccination rates in the areas

That was my original thought, but those cards are easily forged. Someone here on the forum even posted a link to get forgeries. I don't think the same is true for QR codes that are scanned. In Quebec we have language police and soon we'll have vaccine passport undercover police that will heavily fine businesses that don't ask for and scan vaccine passports.

Make getting an ID free and as readily available at numerous convenient locations as the vaccine is then yes. I don't have an issue with a requirement to show ID when you vote, as long as serious efforts were made to give an ID to all citizens of voting age free of charge using outreach programs that go to the people rather than requiring to people to go to them. And if those programs help people obtain the required documentation needed to get an ID (birth cert, ss card etc).

The future might include boosters, so it would be easier to spend two minutes online updating and printing (I don't have a cell phone) a new passport rather than getting an alteration to a tattoo. My face has enough going on, already.
