Question Pre Workout Side Effect Question- Tension

Started my weight loss and weight training about a month ago.

Started taking C4 Sport and the only side effect I notice is that my neck gets tense, the front part. Best guess from what I can point to on an anatomical view from Google it feels like the sternocleidomastoid? It’s two side and they’re stiff or tense.

I try to take a little less than the full cup provided that it recommends since I haven’t taken any before.

    Anybody else? Normal? Not normal?

Otherwise I actually love the taste and boost it gives. I know there are superior pre workouts but I didn’t want to spend 60+$ on something if I didn’t like results.

It shouldn't cause you neck muscles to immediately tense up unless you were having an allergic reaction
    My secret? Texting between sets.

When you say tense, are you talking about some cramping type feeling? Is it constant or just after taking your pwo?

I would stress being hydrated. Adding the C4 with stimulants and the increased sweating that would be my guess.

Not immediate, about 20-30 minutes after. Doesn't make breathing hard but I'm aware it's tense when lifting since I'm straining my chest. It does sometimes go away while working out though.

I guess I would say cramping feeling, it's tight, wouldn't be because of working out since I wait till I feel the caffeine kick in before working out giving it 20-30mins. And yes I stay very hydrated through my work out. Drinking a little less than half a gallon throughout the hour of lifting and cardio I usually end it with.

Any of this feeling when you don't take a pwo?

No, if I exercise without the pre workout I don’t have any tightness in my neck.

Might end up doing a checkup to make sure it’s not something it’s stressing, I’ll use it for a few days to be sure it’s not just me getting used to it before though.

Not sure, but if I work out while waiting for the preworkout to take effect warming my body up I don’t have the same side effect with that tension.

I was taking it, waiting 15-20 mins then starting my workout. That might’ve been the issue.

I’ve done a few workouts since the same way and I feel great. I’ll be scouring the boards for preworkout recommendations soon as I finish the stuff I have now. Definitely like the difference in energy I get from it.
