    Strongman Deadlift: Quick Question

Don't mean to thread spam, but at lunch I saw from a distance on the TV the strongman deadlift competition (a pleasant coincidence!) where they max-rep a bar with four tires loaded on each side. How heavy are those? I wasn't able to find out on a quick Google search.

I'm guessing each tire is 50 kilos or so? These guys were monsters and only getting them for a handful of reps, so I'd be surprised if it was much less.
    Bench: 320
    Squat: 375
    Deadlift: 495

There is no standard in strongman.

It should of said how much they were at the start of the event, I would imagine.

I think it was but the TV was at the other side of the restaurant and I couldn't read the small text. It didn't look like there were weight numbers though when it showed their name and age, which I could faintly make out.

Since it was live I'll probably be able to go back and look up the numbers soon.

As far as I know there are only 2 sets of those Hummer Tire weights.

Rouge fitness has one, I think (they are marked IVANKO USA, so ????) and X times Worlds Strongest Man Brian Shaw has a set.

They are challenging because the weight is so far out on the bar, which adds some bend to it, but also make it feel less stable on the lift (so they say-I have never lifted them).

They plate load them to over 1000 LBs, but realize they are not pulling very close to the floor.

If you want to see more you could check out YouTube: "MY $10,000 DEADLIFT SETUP!!"
