    Mozzarella or cheddar?

    I can't decide which I like more... Obviously they're some of the most popular cheeses in the US, but between the two I'm not sure.

    Mac n' cheese with creamy cheddar, or mozzarella melted on pizza, for instance. Really a tough choice. Is it an easy pick for anyone else?

    Mozzarella hands down. It has a more subtle flavor than cheddar. Cheddar sort of overpowers the other flavors of the food it's paired with.

    I sort of see both as being subtle when used with other food. Sometimes when I've gotten a burger with cheddar, I often don't notice the flavor from it. With mozzarella as on pizza or with tomatoes, basil, and olive oil, I often notice the other ingredients as standing out more. American on the other hand I notice, probably because it is saltier or something. #merica

    If I had two string cheeses to choose from - cheddar or mozzarella I'd probably go with mozzarella first and then cheddar.

    basically this, many cheeses have their place. some are more flexible than others. But if you ever made a lasagna with cheddar I will neg on sight.

    Blue cheese is way, way too rich/stinky for my tastes…

    I can only tolerate it in tiny, tiny amounts in things like salad that’s also have cranberries and nuts of some kind…

    I’m not a huge fan of Parmesan for some reason, I think because as a kid I thought it smelled like feet when we have spaghetti days at school lunch… I do enjoy it when combined in some dishes but less-so sprinkled as a topping these days

    Agreed on all counts. I really stick to harder cheeses or feta.

    Also, unpopular opinion, I actually don’t like spaghetti. I love lasagna, ravioli, & other forms of pasta. Spaghetti can fuk right off though.

    Was out of cheddar so I made macaroni with mozzarella, basil, oregano, dill and that was tasty.

    And yeah, provolone goes great on a sandwich.

    Dude I do not like it either

    I’m all about the penne, bow tie, ravioli, tortellini, rigatoni… for some reason in Italian pasta dishes don’t enjoy long thin noodles as much as I do in Asian foods.

    I freakin love rice noodle Asian dishes tho

    Once again, another bizarrely specific food preference that we both weirdly share. I’m the EXACT same. There’s something I hate about the texture of spaghetti noodles, but I fuking love Asian noodles & all the varieties you listed.

    Now I love fresh mozzarella balls

    But Kerrygold Reserve Cheddar is amazing even if it’s not the reserve their white cheddar is great too


    Swiss is my fav cheese idk why it’s nothing special

    Traders came out with garlic bread cheese that like baked and it’s a must try too, does not actually have bread in it

    I used to work at a sub place. I had the liberty of crafting my own personalized sandwich:

    white sub roll
    easy mayo
    touch of hot sauce
    rotisserie turkey breast chunks
    bacon
    blue cheese
    red onion
    dried cranberries
    black pepper

    I don’t do theism but I met God every lunch break.

    Mozz and cheddar have their place but there are so many choices besides milky or salty.

    I would assume yellow is by default and that is what I meant, but I don't see why white wouldn't count as well.

    Gouda is awesome, too... Although seems to be eaten more standalone than these two. So many good cheeses, though. Brie is unappealing to me, but I like just about every cheese a lot. I guess this is a white people thing.
