That's a fair point, but the overwhelming majority of people who are considered obese by the standard of BMI are not professional athletes. You're using an extreme outlier to define the norm.

it is true though that just because you are a "healthy" bodyweight doesn't mean you are healthy, you could be deficient in certain vitamins and minerals, still have high BP and high cholesterol.

also the standards for overweight in terms of BMI is pretty low. A guy who is 6ft 185 lbs would be considered overweight. A guy who is 5'9 175 lbs would also be considered overweight. To me, a little bit of lifting, maybe even being genetically slightly above average, being active in a sport, or maybe doing a manual labour job, you're not overweight at those weights.
