There's also no problem with abortion. In fact a study by Donohue and Levitt showed that crime fell 20% between 1997 and 2014 due to legalized abortion. There's no problem with a women wanting to have an unborn fetus removed from her body. It's her body, not yours. The woman wanting the abortion also should have no say as whether or not you can legally marry your boyfriend Matty. It seems like the majority of people who have issues with either homosexuality or abortion are christians who can't even provide any proof that the god they worship and apparently made up all of these "rules" actually exists. Yet they expect everyone else to live by the same rules they think they need to live by. Jesus not only would've been against same sex marriage he would've put homosexuals to death. Remember he was a torah observant jew, he and his 12 disciples obeyed the laws of the torah.

So the real questions still are:
Was god wrong when he said to murder homosexuals?
Was god wrong when he told his people to take slaves?

Genesis make no mention of spiritual death. This is just another misinterpretation when something doesn't happen that was "prophesized". God said surely you will die that day, they didn't die, so god must have meant something else, because god can't be wrong or lie.
