So
My diet for the past 5 months or so has been chicken, rice, fruit, yogurt, protein drinks, the occasional protein bar/granola bar and the occasional chipotle stop. I saw rice cakes the other day and was wondering if these are a good thing to eat. 60 cals, 1g of sugar, and 12g of carbs. Trying to stay around 215.

One advantage of rice cakes that I can think of is that they are shelf-stable for a long time and easy to bring with you, unlike bread or something you'd have to toast.
Of course, I don't think they're that exciting. I prefer wasa crackers for the same purpose.Bench: 350

I actually don't mind them. I could never imagine going out of my way to eat them, but one time I bought a pack just to snack on (think I was getting tired of toast and popcorn) and since then I get them now and again, but would never eat them plain. As EliKoehn said they have a long shelf life, often I buy bread and before the week is out it's gone mouldy. Popcorn is okay but when I made my own I sprinkled it with sweetener, and if I buy it I get the stuff with a light coating, so that's more of a sweet snack, whereas rice cakes are savoury.

As MrCarrot said, There are so many ways to define good, but it depends on your goal.
For weight loss?
- Rice cakes are fairly filling (satiety)
- Lower calories
Digestion?
- Rice is fairly easy to digest for most
Taste?
- I think they taste pretty decent
You can't generally label foods as good or bad, however. Pizza and Ice Cream can be great depending on your specific needs, taking into account you also aren't eating a single food for your entire diet plan. Any food can be utilized in a healthy diet plan for your nutrient needs.
Sure, eat rice cakes if you want them.
But to simplify an answer... Be aware of your protein needs and calorie needs, and try to get a lot of nutrient dense foods in your diet while providing some caloric space for some tasty foods that you love.

In my competitive days they were a staple.
I looked forward to them especially the flavored ones.
I didn't worry about the the little sugar or salt in them until maybe the last couple weeks before a show.
Today i still eat rice rolls that are similar to the cakes a little sweet and crunchy low calories no fat.

They have a nice crunch, must say. They are best thought of as an unflavored food you add your own flavor to for the full effect. You'll want some sort of condiment at the ready to use with them, jams, sauces, butters, spices, but it'll need something added before it really comes alive.
