Ngannou has improved dramatically

I've seen a few people on the misc that think Ngannou is still just a dumb brawler, but a huge amount actually think this in general. I completely disagree with that


His last fight with Stipe showed that he's heavily improved in some aspects and added new stuff to his arsenal


- Patience

- Timing

- Cardio control

- Setups for right power punch

- Powerful and well timed kicks, whenever stipe would circle away to avoid his punch he would throw a leg kick that caught him every time.

- TDD skills, instantly sprawled AND took Stipes back, it's crazy that this isn't talked about.




If you thought he beat Stipe because he was x amount heavier than last time you're a casual. Actually saw so many people saying this on the original thread lmao

Yeah he's improved but he will still lose to Gane.

Gane is more technical, faster, accurate and has better movement. Ngannou has terrible cardio and has a reputation made over his power because he used to just charge forward throwing haymakers at 100%. Unfortunately that's the only way he will be able to win against Gane.

Ngannou went slow against stipe 2 and did hardly anything and was still breathing out of his mouth 2 minutes in. And stipe absorbed a lot of his shots. Gane will be setting the pace and it'll end like all of Ganes matches. He check mates you, you have no where to go and he picks you apart and wins either by points or by wearing you down enough to tko you.

Gane is definitely the more well rounded fighter than Ngannou. But even in the Lewis fight Gane put himself in harms way a few times. Ngannou is faster, more athletic and more powerful than Derrick Lewis so you figure he has a better chance of connecting.

BUT, I think Ngannou will tire easy if it gets past the 2nd round. Even if he has to go a round and a half, it seems like he loses steam and cardio. If Gane can get it there I think Gane should be a heavy favourite to win. I think Ngannou will lose a lot of power once he gets tired.

Well as someone who said Gane would starch Lewis I disagree that he beats Ngannou. I think Ngannou will beat him, but I also think Gane will win the rematch. I have a feeling this will end up being a huge trilogy.

I can already see holes in his game, one being that through his in and out stance he leaves his lead leg susceptible to outside leg kicks. To minimise this he'll have his lead leg facing his opponents lead leg for most of the fight which works because he's great at using both stances, but his opponents have all fought in one stance and haven't had the ability to punish this. Ngannou has shown through his last fight he can fight in both stances and could really throw his rhythm off with powerful outside kicks. At that point one punch has to land and it's night night.

Both are big standup strikers with freaky KO power and questionable gas tanks. Ngannou is more well rounded than BB, but they're both gameplanning for that one-and-done kill shot and Gane isn't going to give it to them.

Gane is going to make it a war of attrition against Ngannou, same as he did with Volkov and same as he did with Lewis. Ngannou isn't a guy who's going to hang in there for 5 rounds and win on points vs anyone. It's a bad matchup for him, and Gane has already ran this gameplan perfectly twice.

Both are stand-up strikers who rely on their hands to knock people out. But Ngannou is more powerful, faster, athletic, technical. Only thing I would say is Lewis probably has a better gas tank and is still dangerous even when tired, but that's probably because he throws with less volume where Ngannou likes to pressure and is less gun shy.

+1. Ngannou has shown some improvement but he is still slow and clumsy. While Ngannou is a better athlete than Lewis he will have the same problem getting close to Gane to throw his bombs due to the speed and sophisticated striking of Gane. Gane has filled that void of size, speed, and skill at heavyweight that Jones was looking to take advantage of. I'm thinking if Jones ever enters heavyweight he needs to be preparing for Ganes which could lead to an epic heavyweight war.

The thing is I'm not denying any of those things you said, I actually think Gane is the better fighter and will get the best of him in the trilogy. But like I said I see a hole in his game and if his rhythm is thrown off against Francis like I think it will be that's bad news. BTW Francis is similar in that aspect, he's been training a bit longer but didn't start taking it seriously until recently because he was winning from his power alone. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see him wrestle.

He looked amazing last night. He figured out quickly,that his opponent was too evasive and turned into a wrestler/grappler..!
