    Rogue Six Shooters Opinions...

How does the general consensus feel about these plates? Any pros and cons worth noting?

Also, has anyone ever had any customer service experience with the company Dumbbells Direct?

It appears the latter is carrying Troy GOs scheduled to be shipped out within a month if they're indeed a legit company.

I don't like the looks of them..

I would consider the Rogue 6 shooters. They look better and are $184 a pair vs 219 a pair for Rep.
Rogue in stock. Rep not in stock.

Since supplies on plates have been limited (especially the lack of availability on Troy GOs which I have a bunch of), I decided to mix the suits a bit and take a stab at some Rogue 6 Shooters to add on to some machines where needed...I hope I like 'em.

I seen the 25s up and gone about a day, or so ago as well as the set they sell. I landed up getting two pairs of 45s and one pair of 2.5, 5 and 10 to start since the 25s weren't in stock, also these are more for extra weight for machines so I'm not too critical on matching much station wise since they'll be thrown in with the Troy GOs I'm sure.

Thanks. It's a "bonus" room above the garage. The built ins were put in by the first owner. They also had a built in "stage" for their daughters to perform on in that room. I tore that out when we bought the house.

i've had email notifications on 3 different email addresses and I've only got notified once in the last year. I missed by a few hours and the 25lb were gone. I always check to by resubscribing and it says i'm already setup to be notified each time.

Rogue Six Shooters.. not bad for the price. Mine had some sharp edges where your fingertips grab which was kinda crappy.. I definitely wouldn't consider them a high end plate or anything, but the general design of "revolvers" is very nice and practical to use in a home gym.. once you use them for a bit, you'll never want to go back to "regular" style plates. I prefer the look (7 holes), color, and slightly better quality or the Ivanko OMEZH, but the price is MUCH higher. For the money though, the Rogue Six Shooters are a good buy. I would also look at Rep Fitness Equalizer plates as well.

this man knows. I had some used Ivanko Revolvers and agree on their fit and finish and look being better. I regret selling them. Pre covid i was always buying and flipping equipment thinking a new deal woudl be around the corner on the local used market.

    thejosef and Darth Cholo,

Thanks for the insight on the plates, I'm erring on adding more of the Rogue 6 Shooters they seem like awesome plates for the value despite the price going up a bit on them...not sure if it's true, or not, but upon reading some recent reviews supposedly the casting quality is a bit better on them compared to like a year, or so ago.

I guess I'll find out once I receive them, they're already on their way which was crazy fast, but I'm spending this whole weekend on vacation in another state with my girlfriend so I'll check them out when I get back and post some pics.

They’re greAt plates i upgraded to them after the great gym sell off of 2020. Good luck getting the 25’s though. I waited almost a year for them and just got them from the last batch back early July.

Quick update, I opened up the Rogue 6 Shooter plates and overall I'm impressed!

They're an excellent complete set of plates and I would challenge the Rogue Deep Dish plates aesthetics wise to having these in my power rack instead of the DDs in there (I always favored the classic black iron look, but the silver revolver look is starting to look like it will be way more badass for a barbell in my opinion now).

There are still some imperfections and rough edges in some areas, but it's not a huge issue to me (one looked to be on the outer edge of the 45, but everything else looked pretty good), could probably talk to Rogue about it if it really irks me. I'll post some pics as soon as I get the chance.

I love my 6 Shooters, they definitely don't have the perfect design of a machined plate as there are some imperfections on the outside but they are so easy to move around that I can't imagine going back to a normal style plate. The paint does seem to be flaking off a bit around the machined part near the middle but so far it hasn't been bad. Only regret I have is not ordering more when I got them black friday of 2019 and thought 5 pairs of 45s would be enough.

Seems to be the norm though, at least when comparing what we have seen with the Ivanko's, Rogue, and REP Equalizer 'six-shooter' style plates. Pricing is looking REALLY close these days between Rogue and REP, it's becoming harder and harder for me to justify REP pricing when you can get 'Made in USA' from Rogue. Interesting how quickly things can change these days with equipment, REP went from my #1 choice for most things to pricing themselves out of my 'favorite brand' for nearly everything.

I've been buying a lot more made in USA stuff lately and that's likely to continue, but it's worth reminding people the Rogue six shooters are made elsewhere. Guessing China.

Then I guess that would push me towards ditching grip plates and doing Rogue's deep dish. Or Ivanko if I wanted revolvers, at least those are made in Taiwan if I'm correct. I'm growing increasingly less motivated to buy from China with the current political climate.

Yep that's exactly why I'm not gonna sweat the imperfections much, as long as the plates are decently within accurate range and are in proper shape to be used and abused while staying somewhat nice then I'm good.

For the premium price of Ivankos where those imperfections happened I'd expect the best batch for the money, but Ivanko Revolvers new are too rich for my blood anyway.

I'm good with the middle ground of both the Rogue DD plates and 6 Shooters and even the Troy GOs which were probably the most pristine plates I got my hands on when I bought them new and they actually don't look too out of places stacked with the 6 Shooters.

On the subject of REP, I almost bought from them multiple times...but their reputation lately and higher pricing has me steering clear of them completely.

The Revolvers I bought several years ago were made in China.

Hmmn, maybe they switched at some point? Found an older thread from 2009 where someone said theirs had a Taiwan sticker while others had China. Revolvers are out for me then, guess I'd just go with Rogue's deep dish.

You can't go wrong with Rogue DD plates they have a smooth almost mirror glass finish on the back and edges, their accuracies are good and made in the USA...I think the only minor cons are: taking up more space on the bar with 45s due to the deep dish design and that they aren't available in a full suit of plates (2.5s, 5s, 10s) if you're looking to use them in conjunction with the higher increments, complete a set, or are critical of matching plates (I just use my Ivankos O2Bs with them).

Strength Co plates are a nice US made alternative. Don't take up nearly as much room and they have a full run of plates (except 35s). I like the look too. The old school deep dish plates are cool but for new plates I don't see the point in having them so wide for storage purposes and space on the bar.
