New school method for capturing stock movements with Twitter sentiment.

Requires a bit of technical skill to get it up and running, but it works well.
There are many open source projects like this that are already written and ready to compile.

I'm not personally a fan of using Twitter or social media, but it's undeniable that it has an effect on equity markets.
There are a few sites already built on this idea you can use, but you can get better insight from running your own analytics.

The idea is simple, viral stock tickers lead to buying activity and large price movements.

Here is an example, viral tweet from 21 hours ago:
RT @LucidMotors: It’s official. $LCID now listing on @Nasdaq. #DreamAhead https://t.co/Q1F9DqsSSN
The listing announcement drove a 17% gain in 53 minutes directly after market open.
If you caught the announcement right as it happened, you'd be way ahead of the curve before the market even opened.
The market overreacts to news, and trading the news requires a lot of work and vigilance.
Doing your own analytics allows you sift through meme stocks and identify high volume stocks in the long-term.
This is just an example of an intraday move, social media provides a brand new way to capture volatility.Beans. Cleans. Gasoline.
