Hi, what’s your opinion of this standing calf raise. I’m getting a bit tight on space but think I could fit this in. I have a seated calf raise already.

In terms of space I think I’ve seen selectorized that take less floor space. If I had the space I’d add leg press, curl, ext, and standing calf. Any reason the seated version isn’t doing it for you?

Thanks, on spread. Legs have always been a struggle. But I have a good leg section now with seated calf, cybex leg curl plate loaded, and my refurbished nautilus leg extension. I’ve done some reading and standing is better for gastroc, seated for soleus. Yes I could just make a calf block and use a barbell in the squat rack.
Standing is for sale close by and this is the equipment forum. Selectorized would be better, but the nice thing about plate loaded for me is that I can move the pieces around. Leg press is a consideration but would take up a lot of space. Plus when I’ve discussed them people say they can put a lot of strain on your lower back. I do have a belt squat on my wish list.

I realize that this is Equipment Forum, but couldn't you just get a belt squat and put a calf block on that? I've never used a belt squat machine, so maybe there is some reason why that wouldn't be feasible......

Thanks guys, waiting to hear back from the seller, I’m seeing a lot of equipment for sale. If I could buy for cheap I might get it. I have seen two titan belt squats come up for sale, a squat max, rogue belt squat. The equipment floodgates are opening up. On spread.

Been a while since I’ve used a standing or donkey calf machine, because I’ve used my leg press…… problem is my calves are fairly strong for an old broke down guy so I’d have to load up a standing calf machine pretty hard….. it’s a lot easier to start with my leg press…. That’s already loaded with plates. Just my .02
