Corn chips for carbs with dinner?

Instead of eating chicken or seafood dishes with rice or potatoes I've gotten into the habit of eating a bag of cheese flavoured corn chips.

Is this trashing my diet?

I wouldn't think there would a lot of nutrients in rice or potatoes anyway, so I'm probably just getting a few extra calories.

NB I do this once or twice a week and otherwise my diet is good, of course I eat vegetables with dinner also.

its fine. nachos are almost a staple for me. a lot of times i will buy Trader Joes marinated carne asada and grill up a couple pounds of it on a Sunday, or some chicken. make a plate of corn chips, top with cheese and nuke until the cheese melts, then add carne asada or chicken, sour cream, guac, beans, salsa, etc.

A bit high on sodium but it barely has any sugar so I think it should be fine.

I don't enjoy my vegetables. They are usually just steamed frozen veg. They go down better with Greek yoghurt - I just make up stuff in the kitchen.

I just put the yoghurt on the veg and eat it at as fast as I can.

Actually I usually enjoy my dinner. Then I enjoy some chocolate for dessert. Then sometime later I eat the veg.

It actually works well because instead of looking for snacks I just eat my veg.

It works for me.

Your casserole reminds me of the tamale pies Amy’s used to make so good but they they stopped making them

when I was younger and broke, i would cases of Stagg chili at costco, heat it up and add cheese and sour cream and top with doritos or fritos. so good. if i was feeling ambitious i would make cornbread and add that too.

We call "chips" crisps in the UK but I think I know what you're referring to. Am I right in thinking a taco shell is very similar?

If so I eat beef tacos once a week and I never had an issue getting lean whilst doing so.

However I find rice or potatoes a lot more filling. Often I'll have 250g rice mixed with eggs for lunch. I can't imagine eggs and corn chips would be as filling. But if you don't really like rice I wouldn't suggest stuffing your mouth with it every day.
