Emo was just basically a wanna be/rip off of the "Goth" craze of the 90s. Both phases sucked, but emo was a lot worse than Gothics. Thank god we don't have anything like that today.

Feels like the whole emo/goth era faded away sometime in like 2013/2014. South Park had a goth kid episode in 2013, but even then it felt like late timing.

- hardcore died out in early 00s but was replaced w/ metalcore
- metalcore replaced with djent in 2010s
- now it is just all dead
