bruh there is so much plastic and hormones and chit in all the food you cant do anything about it now and even the "organic" labels fraud and they got chemicals and chit that get in the soil
Any single thing isnt going to make a big diff. Like ok you dont use BHA plastic. who cares there are a million other things in there. Drinking water is just the chit that comes out of the river with some filtration and bleach, they cant and dont get everything out, micro plastics, hormones all that chit. They only test for like 20-30 chemicals and after that its all good.
Tuna is prob one of the better things you can eat really for your heart and all that. 3 cans is fine for whatever mercury you going to get

If you're wondering, how difficult would it be for you to just get bloodlevels for Hg and other heavy metals tested, OP?
Whatever you do, don't tell the doc or anybody taking the sample that you want the test because you're eating tuna, though. If it gets written on the lab notes, the lab might get lazy and fudge the numbers, srs. If they ask, just say you might have been exposed to mercury from a broken older thermometer a few years ago, but just want to be safe.
(Years ago, a well-known German researcher sent two samples of their own blood from the same drawing out for HIV testing. They labeled one with their own name, and the other one was labeled as being from a fake person who had tested positive for HIV before. The lab results came back negative on the first, positive on the second, despite them being the same.)

if you're worried about mercury buildup then look into foods that have sulfur compounds that chelate heavy metals. cysteine is one of the more common (only amino acid with a thiol group bound to it), but NAC supplements are basically the synthetic form if you don't want to modulate your diet to increase intake of it. I believe coffee and chocolate are a couple other examples of foods that have sulfuric acid molecules; onions and garlic are also known chelators

You’re pretty safe OP. I personally eat 6 cans per week (two cans / 200g in a meal), on lifting days.

I love tuna but if you saw what was dumped into and flowing down the badly polluted disgusting rivers of India and China and into the ocean in massive amounts, the same oceans where those tuna are fished, and understanding how Tuna concentrate poisons in the water in their bodies, then you'd not eat most Tuna anymore.
I would not feel as bad about Tuna from the Atlantic. but that's not where the cheap canned stuff comes from. Most of it comes from the waters from off the coasts of the Western Pacific and especially China - Indonesia - India.
If you want a safe canned tuna replacement that's only a little more expensive -

pop top partially, drain liquid and give to cats, mash up fish fine in bowl, add tsp mayo and mustard, mix, place on toasted bread with Tabasco and pepper; mmm mmm good; also more omega 3 than tuna
