Sure to open up more (typically unproductive) debate on the issue, but the 2021 (2020?) Olympics has its first transgender athlete. Although having passed through male puberty, while T levels are maintained below a threshold, Laurel Hubbard is entitled to compete in Women's Weightlifting 87Kg

Trannys need their own catagory, compete against each other.

I've thought that in the past, but one problem is that the transgender categories in each sport could be so small that there may be only 1 or 2 people showing up. IMO, there is no workable solution that is going to make everyone happy, so I think trans athletes should just compete against men. Sure, they will be at a disadvantage, but it seems like a better solution than putting every single female competitor at a disadvantage, and it still allows trans athletes to compete.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Common misconception. Just think about what you're saying. When people realize they want gender reassignment they're usually kids, then they go through a decade of people fighting it, then a few years of nasty medical stuff. You can't just decide you're going to compete as a woman because you can't make it as a man and honestly what Olympic athlete would go to that level?
Not saying I support this T person competing in this sport, but the whole "OK I'll just compete as a Woman instead" is BS.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Welcome to the forums.
Non-T women are definitely concerned all over sport. They are at a disadvantage that is insurmountable in many sports. Go ahead and google it and you'll see non-T women everywhere who have worked their whole lives to get a scholarship or become elite in their sport being beaten by a Transgender female.
As mentioned above, there is no good answer that will make everyone happy.
I've seen Transgender males have the courage to compete which is impressive.
I'd support either all Transgender females competing with men or a separate category - despite the genuine drawbacks. It's never too late!

I disagree. Women weightlifting has a collection of spectacular athletes who are also beautiful women. Like kind of women you can identify as women, no mistakes there. Not only that, but they take podiums and beat the sheat out of bearded ones. The only thing about transgender types is that hopefully there will not be too many of them to ruin the sport. This is a beautiful sport.

LOL, weightlifting at the Olympic level is and has been rampant with drug use, both men and women even you think they are attractive.
An analogy of this situation is like a pro female B.B. contest juiced to the gills and some natty male tries to compete as a women.
.....only in this scenario there are weight classes in which this guy looks like a heavy weight to me? The petite ladies aren’t getting dominated by him, and they use PEDs too.

Couldn't agree more. It's just an unfair advantage. Men have the infrastructure all their lives, plus the requirements are ridiculous. The T-Gender athletes are allowed to have around 5-10x the T-levels of any female competitor. That alone is a huge advantage.
Not to mention the muscle that they have retained all their lives of being a man.Last edited by isaacr65; 06-23-2021 at 07:56 PM.

And if people don't think countries who are so determined to win won't make these kind of transformations mandatory for their athletes, they are dead wrong.
Athlete A, B, and C of Country X make the men's team. Athletes D, E, and F were close but didn't make it. Athletes D, E, and F are better than all of the other women athletes. Country X could give two flying effs about human rights. Athletes D, E, and F are forced to become women and compete for the glory of their country.
