    Melatonin kinda sucks

    Took it 2 hours before bed for a week (300mcg) and I kept waking up every 2 hours.

    Now its got to the point where I wake up every 30 mins to 1.5 hours, worst sleep ever wtf.

    I was taking it because I had got used to sleeping at 3am but this seems like its not helping.

If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

    There's lots of factors that could possibly be affecting it like if you're still being exposed to blue light a lot, how full you are when taking it, stress etc. The time released variety works better but I don't like melatonin because I wake up groggy, I prefer lemon balm.

    Very likely you are going to have to change other things in your life to change your sleep schedule.

    Did you say you need to get used to sleeping at 3am? What has been preventing this?

    Melatonin is typically used clinically from 0.5mg to 10mg, 300mcg is a very small dose.
    Melatonin concentrations in supplements can vary by ~400% as it isn't regulated. Other compounds can be mixed in as well.

    Point is, try a higher dose, avoid blue light as stated above, and try a different formulation if this one doesn't work prior to giving up on it.

    IME it should be taken approximately when natural levels would (or should) be high. I have found it useful to take if I wake in the night feeling wide awake. It retunes your body clock and can also be used to adjust to jet lag.

    So if you are taking it too early, it could mess with your sleep patterns.

    Personally I would only take it at bedtime at the earliest or before 4am if I wake in the night.

    I've actually heard that a higher dose can be counterproductive. I'm personally a fan of ZMA which doesn't just help sleep, but helps you get into deeper sleep (which helps with gains). https://shop.bodybuilding.com/search...&page_number=1 The ZMA I would recommend is no longer on the market, which is Cellocor's P6 PM. I'm not sure why it was taken off the market, but it did a fantastic job of knocking me out.
