Posting a video on a forum, I've now crossed some threshold after 30 years of blabbering on the internet.

3 plates:
Didn't go up as smooth as Friday, but it went. This was the second take. First one I wasn't pleased with my wife's video work. You couldn't clearly see the plates, hence the closeup and count at the end on the second take.
(yes I know the plates are the wrong color)
dumbbells:
Wanted to see if I could do the 125s, the heaviest my gym has, not sure if I've tried before. Also a second take, same issue, hence the closeups again.

Very nice, Gabbar!!!
Reps on spread.
(And I definitely am jealous of you and -=FLEX=- for having a supportive wife/partner. My wife doesn’t like me lifting any time, and complains even more if she thinks it sounds like I might have been lifting heavy. She has never come downstairs during a workout since she might <horrors> catch a glimpse of me lifting, and would NEVER under any circumstances hold a camera to video me doing a PR attempt.)Last edited by HomeGymChains; 06-21-2021 at 12:37 AM.
At age 64, I've exceeded all my prior PRs. Not “over the hill” yet. :)

My wife is the one who insisted we take photos upon our return to the gym and send them to our son. She has lifted for the last few years. She's very supportive and thinks everyone should lift. We get advice from our son who has lots of lifting and coaching experience. My younger daughters lift regularly too.
After my cardioversion, I asked my cardiologist about lifting weights. He said "that's fine, it's not like you're going to lifting heavy like a bodybuilder or something". I was thinking I must look dyel, but I tried to emphasize that I do hope to lift pretty heavy. I don't think he ever caught on.
Like I said, I did take 3 months off. And started back quite easy. I wear a heartrate monitor and try to keep the peak heartrate below 120 bpm and not start a new set until it drops below 100. I violate both of those quite a bit to be honest, but that's my aim.
After going 25 years without having a prescription or missing a day of work or seeing a doctor for sickness, I'm now on a bunch of drugs for my heart.

haha! I believe a good sense of humor is one of the keys to a long, healthy marriage.
Dude, I didn't need to see the video, cuz I believed, but cool to see the lifts. Awesome stuff! You're a big tall dude; taller than me even and much stronger. Everyone want to be tall till they forced to fly coach and not even get an exit row seat. I'm sure you can relate!
Anyways, keep killing it, brother.
