Barebell squat always making fingers numb?

    Hi!
Whenever I squat with the barbell, the fingers (mainly pinkie) on the right hand always goes numb...for like a day. My form seems to be OK and the weight is definitely not heavy. I assume there is a nerve being pinched but even when i rearrange my arms it causes some tingling/numbness still. Has anyone experienced this ever? Does it matter?

    Thanks!
Ps excuse the 'barebell' auto correct in the title!

You might be triggering a nerve where the bar is placed. Maybe try a front squat for a few workouts using a front squat harness and see if you still get it?

When I started working with barbells for the first time I would get the exact symptoms you‘re describing but in my hands/thumbs. It worried me too, but I kept procrastinating getting it checked out. I asked others to check my form and they thought it looked fine as well.

Now, a few months later, it doesn‘t happen regularly anymore. The last time it happened was when we tested 20 RM front squats about 1 month ago..

Maybe worth a mention: I used to get this numbness/tingling in my pinky and ring finger when long-distance cycling as well.

Two years ago I cycled across half of europe, averaging about 90 km a day. The numbness I developed there stayed til almost 5 months after the trip. Though judging by the reactions of people I’ve shared this with, this is not normal..
