    Max heel lift for squats?

I have weightlifting shoes that have had the heels increased to 3 inches. Is that too much for high bar back squats? Is there an ideal heel height to be able to squat well without overdoing it?

    Thanks!

    Probably good for bodybuilding purposes/quads.
If your powerlifting or olympic lifting you may not want such a high heel on your shoes.
Really it would be an individual thing.
The higher the heel the harder it will be to balance the bar when squatting.

3 inches is quite a bit. Just thinking about the old days when using a 2x4 under my heels (1.5"). I think my current Romoleo's are only 1/2"
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
