For quite some time i'm hesitating to buy the Prime or the MAG grips for my homegym, both is too much.
I noticed that the MAG grips have a lot of positive user reviews, actually every review is a 5 star review. I didn't try to leave a review, but i can imagine that MAG is filtering only the positive 5-star reviews for their website.
However, maybe i'm mistaken and are these grips really top notch. Hence, what is your experience with them? Are they really that good, are they significant better for your joints than the normal ones? And if so, which ones would you recommend to buy?

Are MAG (Maximum advantage grip) grips really that good?

Yes, they are good. Better than the knock offs (which I have not tried)

After using my knockoffs for a good while I 100% agree. They are nowhere near as nice as the MAG's, both the quality of the material and overall balance. However I will say the close grip pronate attachment has ended up being my favorite, it's a little closer to feeling like a MAG attachment and it works for both pronated and supinated grip. Out of the knockoff set I sold the long pulldown and supinated close grip, so the three I kept ended up being $30 a piece which isn't hateful. As for MAG's in general, I don't think they are as life changing as some make them sound, but they are certainly some of the best attachments made IMHO.

I have 4 MAGs and the Prime RO-T8 handles and spreader bar. They're all great. I've sold off most of my other generic chrome grips/bars/handles. The Primes are a bit longer, and people complain that on shorter equipment they're too long. What are you planning on using these with?

Love them. Wide and medium supinate are my staples. Great feel and ergonomics. Medium Supinate is a unique movement - really a best in class piece. Feel on wide for me is great too. As mentioned above the grip and palm involvement lets me handle weights I might have to wrap for a normal chrome wide attachment. Of note in home gym's the grip angle on wide cuts about 10" of width off a generic attachment so...that let's you get 5" closer to a wall for your machine placement (made a major difference for me).
I have some close grips (neutral/pronate) as well...I don't use them and prefer a generic row handle..range of motion seems constricted for conventional rowing movements. Have not tried them in pulldown form.▪█─────█▪ Rogue Barbell Crew #27 ▪█─────█▪

Haven't been able to "rep" many of you for a year or more...not for lack of trying.

Yep, they certainly live up to their name...I'm only echoing what the majority of other regulars here would recommend as well when I say that I have and recommend the wide pronate and medium supinate.
If getting two then I would personally start with one of the two pronates (wide, or medium) and the medium supinate to get the best of both variations of grips and if getting one to try, then you can't go wrong with any of the above three choices...but the medium supinate stands out as the more unique variation of grip, while the wide pronate gives a more traditional wide grip lat bar feel with grip give of course not being a factor and medium pronate is sort of similar to wide, but a slightly narrower version of attack on the back and perhaps more, or less comfort depending on your build...for me the wide pronate is best out of those two.Last edited by Deep-Voiced-One; 06-07-2021 at 04:51 PM.

Strongman stuff beats the crap out of my biceps/elbows and the medium neutral grips on the knockoffs were aggravating something. I don't have any problems with a normal lat bar with a pronated grip, so I'm hoping these are a little more comfortable.
I really only ordered it because I thought I *might* want to try it in the future and it only added $2 to the shipping cost vs $20 if I decided to buy it later. Spending an extra $75 now to save $18 later is definitely some Gear Acquisition Syndrome math.

My first order smelled like fresh baked chocolate cookies. Second like cup cakes.
But seriously, I don’t recall any issues. And with all of the posts I did use my wide grip yesterday. Was ok, don’t think it’s good for my shoulder. Longish arms with narrow shoulders makes for bad angle for me.I quote with pics. ()---() York Barbell Club #78 (DD) ()---()

My MAG arrived today, you'd have to stick your nose directly to the attachment to smell anything at all, and it doesn't really smell like anything. The knockoffs are pretty close, you're not going to smell them during use. Comparing the quality there is a definite difference, the MAG attachments are more firm and the coating feels more durable. I'm going to keep the close grip knockoff but I'll probably end up selling everything else. It was worth a shot, at least the close grip pronated is a keeper IMO.

I know where. you're coming from, shipping my mag's to the UK was a major part of the expense, shipping was less than $25 to ship all 7 handles when compared to the 3 handles I really wanted, plus at the time Mag were offering a 15% discount for purchasing the whole set, so I convinced myself it was the right thing to do.
Now 4 of the handles just hang on the wall, I should advertise them, but they do look pretty.
