I had one. It gets tiring worrying about a valuable delicate mechanical fragile $7K+ piece of metal and glass on your wrist when you're out and about downing cocktails and engaging with various women of ill repute. There's a freedom when you can go out and not have to worry about it anymore.

Anyone can buy a watch. You dont even need to be rich. Lower middle class have enough purchasing power to get one, regardless of if its a good decision.
THe watch also has some resell value. Which is why owning/leasing a ferarri doesnt make you a baller since its possible without being rich.
