Sleeve and chest tattoo - ugghhh

For those of you who are aware I was suppose to start my session on my sleeve tattoo this past Saturday.

Anyway the design I wanted, pictured below with the crab in place of the face within the chest piece, is a Polynesian style tribal which not many tattoo artist do.




So unfortunately the guy wasted my fcking time because when I got there he had a whole other design for me keep in mind I been working with this guy for a month and finally said, he can't do the designed and gave me back my deposit.

Anyway I did some research on Polynesian tattoos and found one in New Jersey and in Queens, I am going to go there for a consultation, sessions and pricing. Hope this time this works out!

I wanted to have the tat before my 57 birthday, but that is not happening now.

Why get a Polynesian Tribal Tattoo if you are Puerto Rican?

Isn't there something more relatable/appropriate to your own heritage?

I don't get tats for any meaning, I only picked the crab cause I don't like the look of the face in the tat you see in the pic.. I just like the designs no meanings whatsoever.

Why couldn't he do it? I don't know jack nuts about tattooing, but from my uninformed view, it doesn't look that technically challenging.

Your guess is a good as mine, but every shop I went to said they don't do Polynesian style tats they do traditional Japanese/Chinese tribal. It took some searching to find the one I just found.

Honestly? I think the look is a little dated. If I were to get a large area tattooed, I would get something hyperrealistic, I think.







Something like this would be cool, but probably not your style.




But ultimately, if the polynesian thing is you, then go for it. You've obviously put a lot of thought into it, so do what makes you happy, bro.

Definitely not my style, don't like figures, people, animals etc, I just like tribals.

Yeah I really love the look just want to make sure the ladies think it's hot as well

I am getting the Tat because I like it, but if more than 90% of my female friends and family would have said it would not looked nice more than likely I would not have gotten it, real talk. However just the opposite happen over 90% said do it, that would look so hot on you.

If you know you want it, and you got +90% chicks onboard, then freakin' do that $hit! Hopefully the next artist you're meeting got the skillz and can make it happen.

Look for artists in an area with a large pacific islander population and find someone who is actually of that heritage. They'll make something authentic and on point for you.

Yup, have an appointment with Powder (thats her name) this coming Wednesday in Queens, but she said they will do the work in jersey.

Wow, nice choice of tatoo, although I prefer the face of the original design over your crab. This kind of tattoo that covers one side of the chest following the perfect outline of the chest muscle causes me a certain satisfaction lol. Well, I just didn't quite understand why minimally experienced tattoo artists would have a problem replacing the face with the crab. I hope you find an artist who can do exactly what you want.

Holy chit, those are awesome. I’d love to get a piece with that much detail. Can only imagine the cost though.

I want the crab as it is my sign and I really wasn't feeling the face to begin with and yes I finally found a Polynesian tattoo artist here in NYC and I am going to go see her on Wednesday the 16th. Somehow I thought it was today, but it is next Wednesday.
