Ohh, mannnn. Black Sabbath... hngggg. A very underrated band. They definitely weren't normally melodic but great musicians for sure.

Yea Black Sabbath is pretty much the originator of heavy metal but they based most riffs on a blues scale

Nice. I always laugh when people say that Queen are a pop band. When they wanted to be, they could be as heavy as anyone. They even had arguably the first thrash song (Stone Cold Crazy).

Maybe. I feel that Deep Purple is also criminally underrated. They should be right there with Zeppelin in many respects.

I never was a deep purple fan even when the singer joined up with Sabbath

Btw Symptom of The Universe has maybe my fav riff of all time.
The whole sabotage album is my favorite one by the original 4. You can tell they were experimenting a ton in the studio for that one!

They certainly aren't my number 1, but time and shine on you crazy diamond are very good. Sometimes these guys who can melt faces on a technical level forget that the melody should still be pleasant to the ear. The start of shine on is clever in the way it just gives you enough to keep you on the hook as it progresses. Time is just a cool song.

I enjoy led zep too and it's very rare you'll find people into the GOAT genre of classic dadrock will exclude one of the top 20 bands. Problem with zep live is they bottled so many big moments live and that's kind of tarnished their image imo. Misty mountain hop with the heavy bass line is wicked though. D'yer Maker is a guilty pleasure tune too.

For me, the beatles can go kick rocks, 90% of the music is too low test. The doors are okay, roadhouse blues crew.

That guy who dresses like a PVC condom. Thats who. disagree with not humming tunes though. Beast of burden and brown sugar (with the guitar solo instead of the brass staff). Miss you, waiting on a friend are all humming tunes.

They went from I Want to Hold your Hand to Helter Skelter in 4 Years!

You had 3 song writing geniuses. 3. Three guys who could front a band. 3.

McCartney is the single most talented musician of all time. He can play EVERY instrument. His drumming is good. He overdubbed a lot of Ringo's tracks. He HAD a Phenomenal top 5 voice.

You can make a case Lennon is overrated. Average guitar player. A lazy songwriter who was picking up ideas for songwriting from cereal boxes and TV ads. Got his hand caught in the cookie jar a couple of times with some, plagiarizing. Dylan and Chuck Berry called him out. Great singer however.

George wrote Something and Here Comes the Sun. Frank Sinatra called Something the greatest love song ever written. Elvis covered it. All Things Must Pass is a PHENOMENAL album. All songs he wrote while with the Beatles that John and Paul wouldn't consider. Only critique is Phil Spector tainted it by over producing.

I love the Rolling Stones but they have 4 great albums and the rest are good/decent. Exile on Main Street, Sticky Fingers, Let It Bleed and Beggars' Banquet

Led Zeppelin's issue is all the classic rock stations beat the chit out of them by overplaying Black Dog, Stairway, Kashmir and Whole Lotta Love. Physical Graffiti is a GREAT album. Sure, Jimmy Page overplays, but they're a great listen.
